Xbox: Cannot get TruHexen to boot up on Xbox consoles

Ok trying this again. I have 3 different xbox consoles. I tested and verified they disc drive works, I can put in any game and it loads up just fine. Right now I want to boot into TruHexen to try and restore the dashboard on one of the consoles.

So I downloaded TruHexen 2021 iso (I also tried 2019 with same issue) and burned it to a blank CD-R 4.7GB DVD disc at 4x speed. It only works at 4x and 8x, I chose the slowest. I am using imburn to burn the image. I tried 2 different disc brands, verbatim with azo dye and maxell. Whatever disc I burn, my xbox will not boot off of. I put the disc into the drive, turn it off, then back on, you can feel the drive spin up and you can hear it going.

It sits at the initial xbox boot up screen for about 10-15 seconds, then the microsoft logo shows and it goes to the dashboard with the message xbox cant recognize the disc. I tried different disk drives, different IDE cables, different xbox consoles. All the same issue. The disc drive brands are Samsung, Thompson and philips.

Again, I can put a game into the same disc drives and they load just fine. What am I doing wrong? Is the CD-R discs too new? I bought them the other day. I also have a brand new LG external CD disc writer as the one in my computer does not read CD-R's. What am I doing wrong?

BTW the one disc drive I know that fully works is a Samsung SDG-605B (Ver. B)

Xbox: Xbox keeps turning on and opening and closing the DVD tray

Hello,

I have an Xbox 1.3 modified with openxenium

I made the recaping of all the capacitors

I removed the the Clock capacitor (But even leaving it, after replacing it with a good one, it doesn't change anything)

The console after a few minutes of operation starts to open and close the dvd tray (with variable intervals, sometimes full open and full closed several times, other times intermittently until full opening and in the same way until complete closure and then restart again)

If I try to turn it off (both via button and via command from Dashboard or from the openxenium menu) it turns on again immediately

I have 2 working openxenium doesn't change anything with one or the other

If I turn off the power even just a few seconds when I reconnect the power remains off but if I turn it back on yes the problem repeats

If it is disconnected from the power one night, the shutdown will work properly again, but when it reaches the usual operating time, the problem restarts.

The problem was also present before the replacement of the capacitors.

I'm waiting for the arrival of the esr tester to check all the capacitors.

I'll start by saying that I also have another xbox that worked from which I took the following parts:
- dvd
- power button / dvd open button

I've already replaced the dvd player but the problem remains.

I've already replaced the power lock (power button and dvd open button)

Do you have any advice?!

Thanks for the help 🙏🙏🙏

Hi All hope everyone is having a great day =)

I am currently working on repairing an original xbox with a foxlink psu model FTPS-0002. I plugged it in when i bought it and it went bang. I have located a couple of components i am unable to identify as they have blown out, and hopefully someone will be able to identify them for me. The components are located on a small board soldered into the middle of the PSU itself. Please refer to photos for more specific information. Any more information that may be needed please ask.

I am not 100% sure what version go xbox that I have, the dates point to 1.6 or 1.6b, and I am not sure what I need to do to keep it running for longer. I know that if I take out the clock cap on 1.6 or newer xbox I need to replace it or soft mod the software, and taking it out could lead to a new error code.

Hi guys! My xbox original stopped turning on ... it had firmware (honestly, I don’t know which one, I don’t really understand this, I bought the console already with it). Everything was fine, I played it, downloaded games, everything was super. The last time I threw some game on the console from the computer. She did not turn on and I decided to score on her, I played something else. The next day, when the console was turned on, the splash screen went on, it completely ends with the xbox inscription, then the screen becomes less bright and everything freezes on this ... every time the splash screen is played to the end and after that the screen glows a little less, not so much as not to see the xbox inscription ... tell me what could be the problem? p.s. discs work, games run.

Xbox: Console turns on but displays no image and drive will not open

Hi all,

I picked up an Xbox from a garage sale, and when plugging it in and turning it on, no image would come on the screen and the disk drive would not open (pressing the eject button would cause the light around it to flash but that was it). After a disassembly, we couldn't identify anything right away, and after putting it back together the disk drive opened fine and the console was functioning properly. After putting a game in, a few minutes in it said there was a problem reading the disc. After turning the console off then back on, the original problem occurred again. I don't have a lot of familiarity with the system, could anyone help me identify what the issue may be? Thanks

Xbox: Why is my Xbox Orriginal turning on then turning off?

About a week ago, my Xbox Orriginal had a sticky disk tray. I tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge. Also, it gave up opening after a short while, and I had to keep pressing the open tray button to keep it trying to open. Anyway, at one point, I mistakenly hit the open disk tray button 3 times really fast, and the xbox froze. I turned it off and then tried to turn it back on, but it didn't turn on. So, I took it appart, fixed the sticker disk tray, but I didn't go any deeper than that when I tried it again, and it turned on for like 2 seconds, then shut itself off. So, I put it back together, hoping that would fix the problem, and once it was all back together, I tried again to turn it on. This time, it turned on, again, for 2 seconds. After a while, I noticed that it was staying on for longer, so, to test the theorie, I pressed the power button, and it stayed on for 2 seconds, then turned off. Then, right after it turned off, I turned it back on. It lasted for like 2 and a half seconds. So I tried again, and it turned on! The wierd thing is, is that if I leave it running for a while, then turn it off, then turn it back on, it will run first try. But, if I leave it for a while, it will take at least 3 tries to turn on. If anybody can tell me why this is happening, it would be greatly appreciated, because I don't want to ruin this console entirely by tuning it on like this.

Thank you for reading, and if you have any helpful advice, let me know please :)
