Whirlpool Washing Machine: Whirlpool front loading washer does not stop filling water during wash

I have a Whirlpool Duet Steam front loading washer model WFW9550WL00.

Have an issue that started after the last wash cycle.

During the wash cycle with a full load the water does not stop filling and eventually water starts leaking out front door (drum is half full of water and rising).

I tired a wash cycle with an empty load and no leaks or overfilling of water.

I checked the pressure sensor hose and blew in the hose to check for clogs (no clogs). I have ordered a new pressure sensor (will be delivered in a few days).

Is there any other reason why the washer would overfill and not stop filling with water when clothes are in the machine compared to when it is empty during a wash cycle.

Thanks

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Washer won't stop spinning at the end of rinse cycle.

My Whirlpool Thin Twin washer (model number YLTE5243DQ1) works fine until it gets to the spin cycle at the end of the rinse (not the final spin) it spins up fine, but won't stop, it just sits spinning endlessly until you manually advance the timer to the next part of the cycle. The timer works fine for all other cycles and positions.

I checked the drain hose for clogs, it was full of water but I couldn't see an obvious blockage. The unit is in a small tight closet so I'm pulling it out tonight to get a better look at everything. Is it normal for the drain hose to have about a liter of residual water left in it after the drain cycle?

I'm really hoping this isn't a timer issue since the other positions in the timer seem to work fine.

Thanks!

Update (03/01/2016)

Oh I should have clarified that it does stop spinning when the door is opened, but it will start up again once the door is closed. It's just the timer that won't advance when that particular spin cycle is running. It advances for all other parts of the cycle just fine.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Whirlpool LSR8233EQ1 washer will not spin correctly

Hello, I had my transmission break and it was slipping and making a banging noise on the spin cycle. So I ordered a new transmission. After replacing it now the washer agitates fine but then when the motor spins the opposite direction to make it do the spin cycle it will not spin until I open the lid for a second and close it. Then it spins fine. As long as it doesn’t switch to agitation it will continue to spin fine. They sent a replacement transmission and it does the same. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Maytag or Whirlpool Centennial washer: Whirlpool Washer WTW4816FW2 does not fill tank with water

I hope I'm in right place for help.

I went to Washing Machines and saw my machine immediately, so that's why I'm here.

First thing.. my machine has a Whirlpool WTW4816FW2 it has a 2 on the end, unlike the one listed above.

My machine has 2 Water Levels - Auto Sensing and Deep Water Wash

Problem: I use a gallon bucket to add water everytime I wash a load of clothes to get enough water to cover the clothes well enough, so they can move freely. I guess it's safe to say, it's never enough water on either water level setting.

It did work properly when it was new.

It does add a small amount water at the beginning of the cycle everytime you open the lid. Not sure if that means anything or not.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Why does my washing machine make noise when not in use?

I woke up this morning to a strange noise coming from my laundry room. My washer seemed to be making a noise that sounded like it was slightly running (not agitating or filling with water, just kind of humming). The noise stopped when I unplugged it. But when I tried to turn it on to run a cycle, nothing happened. None of the lights turned on or anything at all. When I plug it back in, the sound starts again after about 5 to 10 seconds.

Update (10/28/23)

The noise seems to be coming from the water drainage hose. It is like it's trying to empty water from the machine but it's not turned on.

Maytag or Whirlpool Centennial washer: I offer a challenge to all that are interested.

Any washing machine from GE, Whirlpool, Maytag, lg, etc. that has a lid lock switch that will not allow you to open the lid until the drum comes to a complete stop which is about 5 minutes after the load has been washed, the challenge is this: come up with a motor or drum brake so that as soon as the load is done it comes to an immediate stop, thereby actually eliminating the need for a lid lock switch. This is whirlpools major failing that they can't come up with a motor break or drum brake as soon as that lid is opened.
