Whirlpool Refrigerator: Water shoots out of both solenoids when dispenser button is pressed

When the water dispenser button is pressed on the door, water fills up and overflows the ice maker mold. I removed the ice maker line from the inlet valve and when the water dispenser button is pressed, water comes out of the dispenser but also out of the ice maker port on the inlet valve. So far I have replaced the main inlet valve, the secondary inlet valve (which has the solenoids for the water and ice maker) and have also replaced the control board. All have been OEM parts from Whirlpool. What else can be making water come out of both solenoids when the water dispenser button is pressed? It is a Whirlpool WRX986SIHZ00. Any help would be much appreciated

Whirlpool Refrigerator: Intermittent Cooling Until Door is Opened

Side by side ED25QFXHW01 fridge that is intermittently cooling. When cooling it gets to normal temps (-5 freezer, 35 fresh) and may run normally for a day or more. Goes through defrost cycles too. But sometimes it stops running (evap fan and compressor fan) and temps rise. Many times when door is opened, it kicks to life and begins cooling again. If it doesn’t, cycling temp to off and back to normal temp setting will start it. Attempts to troubleshoot defrost timer or cooling control when it fails to cool are thwarted when it starts cooling when door is opened.

What is likely culprit?

The ice maker works then doesn’t, the door ajar alarm goes off even when the doors are shut and the led lights sometimes don’t come on when the doors are open.
Whirlpool Refrigerator: Ice maker fill tube freezing up WRX986SIHZ01

I have a WRX986SIHZ01 ice maker in the upper left side of the fridge, with ice in the door, that the fill tube freezes up and will not fill the tube tray to make ice. I have taken the ice maker out many times to thaw the tube and then it will work for a few days maybe a month and then just freeze up again and stop filling. I have replaced the tube heater coil, the inlet value and it keeps happening. It seems to happen when there is a blip in our power, I usually have to unplug the fridge. thaw out the tube, plug it back in and then go to code 38 and set it to Long Defrost cycle and then it will make ice for a month or so and then one day just stop making ice and the I find the tube is frozen again. I am not sure what else to try or do. We have one of those power meters, given to us free from State Farm, I think they are a bunch of BS, but when the app says that we have had a power spike or a blip in the service, the fill tube freezes again and I have to do the cycle over again and it will work for another month or so flawlessly. Seems to be a correlation to the power.

Hi, the Ice maker on my whirlpool fridge will fill with water after a batch is completed but then like 10 minutes later, fill a second time. This causes water to overflow the already filled tray and leak into ice bin. Otherwise it works normally, no errors etc and sometimes doesn’t happen at all. Could this be the control board or does something else initiate another fill cycle?

Whirlpool refrigerator model GZ25FSRXYY2

Our ice maker is no longer dumping the ice it makes, I think the ice maker mold thermostat may need to be replaced. This thermostat is N. O ( normally open ) and when cold from the ice in the mold it will close, which tells the motor to dump the ice. how can this be tested ? To check it with an ohm meter will do no good because it is N. O. and it has to be ice cold to close. If I remove it from the ice maker and cover it with ice will that make it cold enough to close so it can be tested with an ohm meter ?

Whirlpool Refrigerator WRX735SDHZ03: Whirlpool wrx735dhz03 Ice maker help

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator model wrx735dhz03 with a built in on the refrigerator door ice maker. I’ve had the refrigerator for just over two years and have now replaced the ice maker unit 3 times. The problem is always the same. It makes ice normally for about six months but then begins to form giant masses of ice in the bottom of the ice tray. These giant ice bergs are best described as cubes frozen into pools of water at the bottom of the ice tray. I was guessing the ice cube tray was being overfilled, or the ice storage drawer was not consistently cold and was allowing already formed ice to melt and refreeze. But, with each new ice maker I install the cycle starts over again… good for six months then ice bergs. And so on. I am using Whirlpool OEM W10882923 ice maker replacements.

I have also done the following: replaced the shutoff valve, measured the water pressure entering the refrigerator (which is at a consistent 35 to 40 psi). Interior of the refrigerator measures 38F on the top shelf and 32 on the bottom shelf.

What else should I be looking at? A thermostat somewhere? Electrical problem?

Any help is appreciated.

Whirlpool Refrigerator: Whirlpool WRS965CIAM00 Refrigerator Side Getting Too Warm or Too Cold

Hi. I have been battling this issue for some time. I believe it to be a control board problem.

I have found what I believe to be the correct Service Sheet for it. It has W10477743 C in the upper right corner, W10490344 in the upper right corner, and has a section headered with SERVICE INFORMATION ( W10490345 A ).

Tests 1 & 2 show pass. On test 3, when it is having an issue the air baffle will not run (open and close). I can't hear it run and the status on the display does not change. If I unplug the unit for 5 or 10 minutes, it will start working again as I can hear it run and see it toggle between 01 & 02 on the display. It will then work for some random period of time at which the process of unplugging for a short time will get it going again. Rinse & repeat.

I am likely getting either too warm or too cold depending on whether the air baffle was open or closed when it begins to fail driving.

As I said, I'm thinking control board. It is identified as a W10446514 which I have seen on some sites as being replaced by W11088499.

I've also been musing if changing one of the relays would be a possible solution. I can't find a schematic for the board, but may be able to trace it. From the wiring diagram it looks like it's either P2-2 or P2-5. It looks like its switching 120v, so contacts could be getting oxidized.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!
