Western Digital WD Elements Desktop: How to put back HD rubber blocks?

Bummer (me)! Instructions were great (thank you!!!), I was able to take the disk out and fix a loose power connector, but did not pay attention to the four rubber blocks, and now I can't figure out where and how each one of them goes into each corner of the HD, no matter what. Could some kind soul take a picture for each, and where they go, please? /

Western Digital WD Elements Desktop: Power adapter replacement for external WD

Hi guys,

I lost my original power adapter 12V 1800mA 18Watts for external WD. I have another from older WD but its 12V and only 1500mA and if I connect this it's not working. Than I have some 12V 3000mA - it's from LCD screen - can I use it or it's too much and I should stick with 1800mA ?

Thanks a lot for any ideas/advice.

Western Digital WD Elements Desktop: Is it possible to turn this device into a portable drive?

Hello all I have a question, I have a couple of these devices in different capacities (along with the WD My Book) and what I am wanting to know is if it is possible to take the drive out of the inside and put it into another enclosure and make it a portable drive where it does need a power supply?

Western Digital WD Elements Desktop: Why is my device not turning on anymore?

Dear ifixit-Community,

I do have one of this WG-elements Desktop external Hard-Drives and suddenly it stopped working. It didn’t fall down or nothing. When I connect it, the control-light doesn’t switch on. Windows doesn’t recognize, nor plays the USB-Plugin-Sound anymore.

I’m shure that Cable and Power-Connectors are fine, I do have another one of this machines and it works fine but on the broken ones I stored important data.

Happy Greetings from Hamburg :-)
