Western Digital My Passport Studio: My Passport WD External HD fails to mount to desktop

My Mac formatted Western Digital My Passport External HD crapped out and doesn't start.. anyone know how to resuscitate these things? Help! Any data recovery solutions out there?

Doesn't mount to desktop. It got knocked out of th USB cable a couple times while it was plugged into the MacBook and running. I've tried other USB cables. Th hardrive looks to be fused/soldered to a mini motherboard.

Here's a couple pics:

Western Digital My Passport Studio: Data Recovery Issues after restore

Hello everyone.

I have a western digital which I had stored videos from my macbook pro using the software final cut pro.

About a week back the hard drive crashed and I took the external hard drive and attached it to a PC running windows 7 and ran a recovery program called EASEUS recovery. I was successful recovering the the videos , but I can't play the videos neither on a mac or pc. Keep getting an error that the file is invalid. Is there a special software or a particular way to run recovery which would enable me to recover the videos properly.

All help is appreciated

Western Digital My Passport Studio: Why doesn't "back up now" appear in the list anymore?

I have been successfully using Western Digital My Passport Studio to back up my MacBook Pro for some time now. Once it mounts to the desktop, I right click and then select "Back Up Now" from the list of actions. Today when I connected it and it mounted, "Back Up Now" no longer appears in the list and I can't figure out anyway to make it start. It didn't start automatically after waiting, it didn't help anything to unmount it and restart the computer. Any suggestions why this would happen or another way to begin the back up?
