I have no idea why it won’t pull gas. It was running one day and then it shut off one day and never again after. I changed the plug, all filters, lines, gaskets, and bought 2 different carbs, and it still won’t pull gas. I saw it splatter out “once” (with old pump), and never again. It wants to run when I spray engine start-up fuel into it, but it won’t feed itself. The exhaust is clean, so it is not that, unless I missed something. But it’s just not “pulling” fuel in for some basic reason, where I am just too noobish to figure it out. I tried fresh new fuel with and without mix, not a chance. I don’t know engines parts well, but I am a little mechanically inclined. I did a compression test, and after ~3 pulls, it hits full compression. 120? Iirc, bcuz it’s been a minute since messing with it.

I got this response below from another person in another thread. But I don’t understand some of it. Like specific part(s) or location of it on the engine to exam, sadly I’m just ignorant. If anyone can post pictures explaining the below, I would be eternally grateful. But I feel like the post below is what I am missing. The weed eater wasn’t stored. I used it every weekend. And living in Florida, that is most of the year. I just can’t understand what cut it off out of no where, and caused it to stay off.

How can you ck if it has vacuum? I put a new carb on it and the fuel bulb is full but no fuel in cylinder. Has 110 compression.

Weed Whacker: Why does my Echo SRM-225 gas trimmer stall or bog down?

My ECHO SRM-225 starts on cold setting but dies out soon after, sometimes one to three minutes, sometimes just a few seconds. Throttling always makes it bog down and stop. I recently replaced fuel line and filter (Echo 90097 kit) and still, no better. I have been using TRuFuel 50:1 with no problems for months until now. I checked the plug, not dirty at all. I just checked the spark arrestor screen, and it was clean. The one thing I do notice is an accumulation of grease/oil near the exhaust.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Black Decker Weed Whacker: GH900, type 2, need to remove drive gear

The roller bearing behind the small drive gear seized up and broke. I need to remove the gear in order to install a new bearing. Afraid too much heat will ruin the large plastic gear. Anyone have any suggestions or experience with this?

Hi Ifixit community, I have a partially disassembled (no fuel lines or fuel filter) Craftsman 316.791880 string trimmer. I am looking to install new lines and a new filter but not sure of the routing of the lines and why there are 2 holes in the bottom of the fuel tank. Is anyone familiar with this model and the fuel system?
