why can I receive but not transmit?

My other 3 radios work but only one has this problem, I can receive from the others but it does not transmit. I have checked if the lock is on and all of the front buttons work as intended ant the ppt seems to work mechanically but will not allow me to send to the other 3 units.

Have a cobra speaker /mic unit that plugs into the PRO401HH Handheld CB. Want to use the microphone only and not the speaker in the microphone. Can I cut the audio pin off on the 2 pin connector and accomplish this?
