1998-2005 Volkswagen Beetle: Trunk will not open at all

I have a 2003 VW Beetle Convertible. The trunk latch is broken. I cannot open the trunk with remote or key. I opened the rear seat to gain access to the trunk, reach my arm in and the latch is broken. I know this because when I pull on the latch mechanism, it's frozen, will not move at all. Any suggestions on how to get into trunk when latch is broken in the closed position?

1998-2005 Volkswagen Beetle: Water in passenger footwell

Hi,

Hopefully someone can help,

My wife has a 2002 Beetle, there is no sunroof, I have removed the front plastic at the bottom of the front window and drains are clear and working well, I did notice when pouring water down the passenger door window it was draining out of the bottom of the door and away but there was quite a trickle coming out at the door hinge rubber, is this meant to happen? I have the door panel off but haven’t taken the internal workings of the door off, I didn’t really want to do that if this isn’t the cause, I am a bit of a novice and youtube can only get me so far, has anyone had a similar issue or similar experience with any other cars, any info would be great, look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

1998-2005 Volkswagen Beetle: I have to release the gas pedal for the car to shift into gear.

I installed a new timing belt on a 2004 vw beetle 2.0 non turbo and the teeth lines on the cam and crank seem right of what I can identify on these lines and I have to release the gas pedal for the car to shift into gear. Any clue what the issue is. Now I have a code popping up saying the car isn’t reading the cam sensor and cylinder 4 is open which gives me a small miss at times but I did change my plugs while I did my timing and water pump so guessing I damaged the wires or coil acting dumb. I never had any of these issues before the car broke down. I got lucky the timing belt lost teeth which made the motor stop while sitting at idle and luckily saved my motor I believe. It drives good if I barely hit the gas pedal driving and also allows it to shift but as soon as I put power to it it’s want shift into the next gear. Scared I’m gonna really tear this car up after investing a lot of money into it. I know once I do get it fixed I have sold so def need to figure out an answer ASAP.
