Zoom H1 Handy Recorder: One channel is not recording properly. Can I fix it?

The L channel input isn't working. It seems to be picking up some low levels signal of some sort every now and then, and on playback there appears to be an almost silent low level recording, but the usable recording is effectively mono (R channel only)

I've opened it to try and see if there is a loose connection, but there is none that I can see, which makes it seem like the problem might be electrical / with the logic board.

Is this fixable at all? And if so, how?

And, if not by me, then where could I send/take it to be repaired? (I'm based in London)

The recorder is no longer under warranty, but I really don't want to have to trash it / replace it with a new one. I'm positive there must be some way of repairing it. Really hoping the answer can be found in this helpful forum!

Zoom H6 Handy Recorder: How do I fix a broken micro USB port on my zoom h6?

So, my device fell off a table while connected to a usb cable. After that it stopped working. From the picture of the zoom H6 internal parts, it look like the micro USB port is soldered directly onto the motherboard. However, the company does not manufacture repair/replacement parts. This seems like a difficult fix to me personally, but it doesn’t look impossible. How would one fix this?

Zoom H1 Handy Recorder: Replacement part number 20, the power buttun. It fell off day one.

I need replacement for power button, part number 20. It fell off as i took the record er out of the box. I put it back on but it kept coming off. I was able to use it twice, but the third time, the button came off, it fell in the grass and i never found it.

I put in a SD card to the reader but it could not put out it, so I put it by force!

Now the readers Iron strings are up and the reader can't read!

The SD card goes in most of the way into the Zoom H1, then it stops. I tried it numerous times. I have inserted it in the right way. Tried different cards, same result. This just started happening last week. Before that, it had been working fine.

Without the door, it's too easy to accidentally eject the microSD card. I'd like to find a replacement door/cover.

Zoom H1 Handy Recorder: Why are my files missing from the H1 Zoom interface but present on SD?

Hi,

So I am using the H1 Zoom to record interviews that I am carrying out as part of a research project. I've conducted 3 interviews so far and will be conducting many more in the coming weeks and months. As I record each new interview, I just hit record and the file becomes file 2 thentthe next becomes file 3 and so on.

Last night when up loading interview number three to my laptop I decided to changed the file names to something more identifiable.

Today, when I went to play back the last night's interview on the H1 Zoom, it was no longer there. In fact, none of the files were.

The strange thing is that when I plug the H1 Zoom into my laptop via USB and go to view files, they are still there with the new names I gave them!

So I'm at a loss to understand what exactly has happened and while I haven't lost anything, I'd still like to know what I did or what happened.

Also, while here. I'm recording on MP3 so far at 128. I'm not overly concerned about sound quality, just need it to be clearly audible for the purpose of transcribing. Is this an okay setting?

Another thing that mystifies me is that the time remaining never seems to change and stays at 99:99:59 at all bit rates with the exception of 48 where it is less?

Thanks in advance for help forthcoming. As I'm sure is evident, I am very much an amateur in the area of sound recording.

Philips DPM8000: Why is the screen on my DPM frozen?

Since I dropped my DPM from about five inches, the screen is frozen. When I turn it off and on the device starts with the same screen. I switched the BA-slider and could listen to my recordings, so I believe the problem is caused by the display, right?
