I turn device on by the down volume button and the power button but whenever it gets to the red Verizon screen it just stays there.

Verizon Ellipsis 10: Screen randomly turns off during use

I'm trying to figure out an issue with my sister's tablet, a Verizon Ellipsis 10. She is complaining that during normal use the screen randomly shuts off for about 2 seconds and then turns back on. It seems to be an intermittent issue - so far she hasn't been able to successfully reproduce it.

Could this be a hardware or software issue? I'm trying to update the tablet in hopes that it would fix the problem but it keeps saying "downloading updates. we'll let you know when it's ready" and nothing happens.

Edit: Yesterday my sister told me that her tablet suddenly spammed a lot of numbers and characters into a textbox all by itself. It sounds to me like the digitizer/LCD display is having issues. Could a loose connector also cause these symptoms?

Verizon Ellipsis 10: Can't format SD card

My mom likes playing puzzle games, but she always runs out of space in her internal storage and has to delete games she still wants to keep. So I bought a Samsung 32 gb evo SD card and threw it in the tablet. I want to format the SD card to act as internal storage. Everywhere I look, it says to click on the name of the SD card and then click on the menu icon, the ellipses in the top right, and select settings. However, it won’t let me select the SD card and all that shows up in the menu is usb computer formatting. I’m not sure if it is supposed to have a more specific name, but the tablet only shows it as SD card. It doesn’t do anything else when I try to click on internal storage either, if that makes a difference.

I've had issues with the battery not charging completely and incapable charger messages. Charger has been replaced as well as the battery. Still having the same issues. I suspect neither needed replaced and the USB charging port is the problem. I've searched online and can't find what I need or a compatible part. Anyone found a replacement?

When I try and turn my Ellipsis 10 on, when it gets to the screen that states Verizon, it freezes and will not go any farther than that. How can I fix this?

Is there a trash bin on my tablet ? Where do the files or videos I delete go? Is it possible to retrieve a video after you deleted it?
