VCR: F60 error on Panasonic DVD recorder

I have a Panasonic DMR-ES40V VCR/DVD Recorder that suddenly will not start up. After the 000000's finish cycling when I plug it in, it gives a F60 error code and won't do anything else. No power light, no fan noise, etc. I have tried the reset options in the user manual, to no avail. Googling the issue seems to point to a video issue, but no one can tell me specifically what.
VCR: VHS DVD HDD Combo Recorder Not turning on

Hello, is anybody available to potentially give me some repair advice? I'm trying to digitise old family movies before tape rot sets in.

I'm trying to fix a VHS DVD HDD Combo. Plugged it in last night and shone no signs of life. The VHS part of it hadn't worked for a while so I have another VHS player I plugged in as well as a small TV. It's not the wall socket or the extension.

Replaced the fuse with one from a working device to confirm the issue isn't the fuse (I'm located in the UK). I don't know what else to try or where to go.

Samsung VR4607: Philips vr 475 VCR no picture and no sound

Recently purchased. Hooked it up with a scart, and got some signal (tape time and other text). All the mechanics work fine except there’s no picture nor sound on any tape. Tried cleaning the head and everything else twice and got picture and sound but very distorted. Tried tracking the picture to get better quality but then after I replaced the tape inside I inevitably lost everything. When I start any tape for a split second there’s some picture and sound and then all the same. So it’s not a problem of the cable as I see text on the tv, I tried cleaning the head a lot. It’s not the problem of the tape as I tried many when there’s confirmed video and I saw video earlier. I don’t know what to do anymore please help

VCR: Emerson EWC19T5: What should my next troubleshooting/repair step be?

I've acquired a partially-working Emerson EWC19T5 combination DVD/VCR CRT that I'm trying to get fully working.

It powers on, but the only button that does anything is the DVD eject button. It will accept a VHS tape, but after making some noises, it powers off. This happens the same way whether it's still on VHS input or whether it's been switched to DVD input by ejecting and then closing the DVD tray. Upon powering back up, it will eject the VHS immediately.

I've opened up the cabinet and cleaned as many parts as I could think to clean, but I'm not experienced with this. I did research how to safely discharge the CRT anode cap before working on the board (though every time I've done it, there's not been anything to discharge so it seems to be bleeding everything correctly after it gets unplugged). I identified a ceramic capacitor and an electrolytic capacitor that appeared to have been damaged or leaking in some way, and replaced them, but it still behaves exactly the same way.

I'm not sure how to proceed or what I should be looking for next. Happy to share any and all information that might help. I know this is fairly broad and vague, I'm crossing my fingers for someone willing and interested to walk me through this. I'm decently handy and techy but not specifically knowledgeable or experienced in this kind of diagnosis and repair.

I can insert the tape and the loading works perfectly fine. I checked the belt and it’s in tact and everything. I can use the eject button but the forward and reverse do not work. Along with that the tape doesn’t play. I insert it and then a couple seconds later it ejects. The guide rollers move with a lot of force about halfway up but not fully. Without force and just automatically with a tape they move maybe a half centimeter. The gears for them seem to move so I dont know if it’s a blockage. Any ideas?

VCR: Help solving VCR problems.

Hello!

I would like help in solving some problems that I am having with my “Go Video DV2130 4Head Stereo Hi-Fi DVD/VCR Combo.” I will describe the problems that I am having with this machine in detail.

1ST Problem:

→ The VHS Player’s “Video Head” doesn’t spin with the VHS Player “On” or “Off.”

What I Tried to do to solve this problem:

→ I cleaned the “Video Head” multiple times with a “Cloth” and “99,8% Isopropyl Alcohol.”

2ND Problem:

→ The VHS Player “Ejects” every type of VHS Tape. Normal Size VHS Tapes and VHS-C Tapes. What happens is that every time I insert a VHS Tape in this VHS Player, the “VHS Tape” seems to have difficulty entering in the “VHS Player,” but it goes in eventually and then the “Tape-Loading Rollers” move slowly less then their normal speed before taking the “Black Tape” to the “Video Head” and then the “Video Head” doesn’t spin or read the VHS Tape and as a result, the “VHS Player” “Ejects” the VHS Tape.

What I Tried to do to solve this problem:

→ I cleaned all of the parts which I will mention below with “Compressed Air,” “Cloth” and “99,8% Isopropyl Alcohol.”

- Video Head

- Tape-Loading Rollers

- Tape Guide

VCR: VCR-DVD Player(s) Issues

I have a Magnavox MDW2205 VCR/DVD Player that plays VHS tapes fine, but the DVD side slowly looses color the longer it's on until it stops outputting color completely.

I have a Toshiba D-VR5SU DVD Recorder/VCR that plays DVDs fine, but the VCR side plays tapes with a jumpy picture and lots of noise, though sound is absolutely fine. When I first received it, the VCR portion functioned fine. Since it has been in my possession, the remote has not worked. I tested the remote on a similar model a friend had and the remote itself is fine, the VCR I have just won't receive any infrared input (I tried a third party generic remote as well with no success.)

I would love to get one (or both!) working instead of having to string together both machines to make a complete working unit.

VCR: Panasonic PV-2700-B VCR won't even try to wrap tape around heads

This is an the oldest VCR I have worked on so far being made in 1987. VCR accepts tapes perfectly fine but does not even attempt to wrap the tape around the heads. Both motors are functioning fine and both belts are somehow in working condition. If I try to turn one of the pulleys to manually pull the tape out, I can only get about 5 rotations (which doesn't do much) when the VCR takes over and brings it back to starting position. I am great at fixing mechanical problems on VCR's but this seems to be maybe a sensor issue (if it has sensors, I can't see any) or an issue with the control panel. 2 notes: the VCR takes about 15 minutes to turn on after plugged in, not sure if this is just an old VCR things or what and there seems to be burn marks on both the top and bottom panel, but none of the inner components are burnt and one of these "burn marks" is in the shape of both the belts, which I can't see getting hot enough to burn the case, not sure what it is. Can't see any evidence of leaky capacitors or just exploded ones.
