UN55MU6290: Power supply fuse keeps blowing

Hello,

We have a 4 year old UN55MU6290 Samsung TV. Last week while it was on it made a pop sound and turn off. Once I had a bit of time over the weekend I opened it up to have a look.

First I did a visual inspection and didn’t find any component damaged or burnt (neither on the power supply nor on the main board). I took a multimeter and first thing I checked the fuse: open circuite.

I thought easy enough… I ordered a package of matching fuses (T5AH250V). The fuses arrived today. I replaced the fuse reassembled the TV plugged it in and… it didn’t work.

I open up the TV again checked again the fuse I had just installed and… it had blown.

I then replaced the fuse again. This time I did not reconnect the neither main board nor the backlight to power supply board and I powered it up with the TV open.

The fuse blow again as soon as I plugged in the power. So for sure there is something wrong with the power supply board. It burns the fuse as soon as powered up even if disconnected from the rest of the TV.

Now I can order a new power supply board (BN44-00807K) for cheap. The question now is how can I check that there is nothing wrong with the backlight or the main board that cause the damage to the power supply board and will damage the new power supply board the same way?

video 2 (active background)

I have one wide color line on my screen. Couple times is disapiers somehow but most of time is permanent. What I did already:

Disconnect the LCD Flex Ribbon. Clean each of the connections with a 99% isopropyl. (non-conductive alcohal) and reinstall them - didn’t help

I switch t-con Flex Ribbon from left side to right side - didn’t help also. So probably flex ribbons is ok.

By symptomatic - what chance that this is an issue with a t-con board? Or it is most probably an issue with flex ribbon to LCD?

I could replace board myself but most probably could do nothing flex ribbon to LCD.

Thanks!

UN55MU6290: Vertical lines on screen samsung uhdtv

Only tested the TV for a day after buying to be able to return it to the store. It worked perfectly. Then i stored it in its box.

Just installed it last weekend mounting it on the wall without problems.

After 4 days it started to show some vertical lines over the left side, they disappeared after some time. Next day the colored lines didn't disappear, i looked for common problems and tried hitting the TV in the bottom left side and power cycling the tv and most of the lines disappeared.

Only a 1/4" thick black line remained almost in the center of the screen. As if there were no signal. The pixels are turned off from top to bottom.

Then i checked the ribbon cables as suggested in other threads, everything looks fine.

What else can i check?

Regards

[Edit] Added some photos

I took this photo when i finished mounting the tv.

There is a phooto showing the black line

A close up to the top and bottom of the black line. The pixels are turned off, you can notice the line since the tv is turned on, they look kinda gray when all the pixels are black.

I tried exchanging the ribbon cables, and the line was still there. I removed the front bezel, but wasn't able to test applying pressure over the T connections while turned on because i had to remove the PCBs to be able to flip the panel.

So i saw that my screen was very dirty so i took a water spray and a cloth and just went around the screen, i made sure not to let any go inside from the bottom and what not but when i turned it off and came back to it 2 minutes later there is a small cloud of water in the bottom center of the screen just sitting there, i unplugged it and left it there now. Is my tv set to be dead now? or is there still hope for it

UN55MU6290: Fuses blow. Is it ALWAYS an issue on power board.

51 inch Samsung suddenly went dark. Replaced bad ceramic slow-blow fuse, plugged in and new fuse immediately blew. Front and back of power board reveal no visible damage. Don't consider myself qualified to track down and replace individual component, but willing to replace entire power board. Therefore, my question is: is the underlying problem causing blown fuses almost always on the power board? Itll be a $100 wasted effort, if not.

UN55MU6290: Samsung TV turns on and makes a noise but won’t turn on.

I have a 2012 Samsung UN32EH4003V.

The TV will successfully connect to power and try to turn itself on but it does not fully work. It will flash a VERY fast message saying ‘component’ & ‘no time’. It will then make a noise that sounds like a start up noise and the red light blinks.

I can’t find anyone else having this issue and I don’t know what to do.

My Samsung TV won't turn on its actually the un55mu6300 no standby light I replaced the power board and the main board and it still won't power on. This happened after a thunderstorm power outage. Anyone? If not power board or main board what can it be. Also the backlight turns on when the main board is disconnected from powersupply

While performing a repair on a Samsung TV I had torn one of the yellowish flaps as shown above from this stock image I found online. I put the TV together only for there to be a huge vertical black bar where the tear occurred. I was wondering if their was a means of repairing this issue that wouldn’t require me to throw away the TV.

UN55MU6290: Samsung TV dead, no standby light un65mu8000 NOT ABOVE LISTED TV

Hi. after combing the diy sites, here is what I’ve come up with. I have Power board BN44-00912A AND MAIN BOARD BN94-12295K.

When I unplug the main board from power board the Back lights WORK. There are 2 cables running from power board to main board.

I replaced the mainboard but this didn’t fix anything (might be DOA but not sure)

I have checked power on the power supply board but there is no pin that is clearly marked STANDBY to look for the 3.3 or 5v.

There are 20 pins on CNM803. The first 5 are GND. The next few are VAMP (not sure what this stands for).

Then they pin out like this:

OD_LEVEL,

FAIL_COUNT

OD_ON/OFF

BLU_ON_OFF

POWER ON/OFF - (i checked this its at 4.5v)

PINS 11-17 A13V PINS 18-20 GND
