UE Boom 2: Sound Delay after firmware upgrade to 2.0.97

This seems to be a very common problem, looking into the logitech forum thread here and is seemingly also affecting the original UE Boom:

https://community.logitech.com/s/questio...

After updating the speaker to the current firmware version of 2.0.97 the speaker has a delay of about half a second in sound playback. This is not an issue while playing music, but in the case of videos it is quite upsetting. The issue persists on all available devices to me, testing different video players, games, etc. The delay is present no matter what.

I honestly hope that UE / Logitech will fix the problem soon, but I am not sure when this is going to happen. Because of this, I am posting my problem here in the hope to find someone with a solution or temporary workaround.

Note that it is seemingly not possible to revert the firmware, what would be the easiest fix. Also a reset of the speaker has no effect on the problem.

I thank you in advance and would be delighted to get a suitable solution!

Update (11/06/2016)

Hey,

I never received an answer from Logitech / UE regarding the issue...

Haven't installed the update yet, but if it fixes something for me I'll let you know.

In the official thread of the Logitech forum, reseting the UE Boom by holding the minus button and power on for approx. 10 seconds, fixed the issue for some people. This was no fix for me, but maybe after the update... Hope still remains.

Cheers Muppel

UE BOOM 2: UE Boom 2 remote power not working

Hi,

I am using the boom 2 via my iPhone 6s so I have Bluetooth 4.0 support. Yet somehow the remote power on function does not seem to work. I can switch my boom 2 off but when I want to turn it back on again via the app it just gives a standard instruction on how to connect your phone to boom 2.

The remote power function in the setting is turned on by the way.

Any thoughts?

UE BOOM 2: The Double Up Feature Still Has Sound Delay. Why is that?

So when I updated my UE Boom 2s to version 2.0.12, I got rid of the single speaker sound delay, making Netflix and videos a lot easier. Although, when I tried to double up, it worked, although the delay started again. I tried turning off my speakers, and turning them back on, but it still has the sound delay. If anyone can, please explain to me why that is and how I can fix it. Thanks!!!

UE BOOM 2: Problem with the battery or charger

Recently I attended an auction an purchased the black and grey UE Boom 2 with white volume buttons. I got home and charged it for around 2 hours and proceeded to turn it on. When checking the battery by similtanously pressing the buttons it said 100% but not even a minute later it turned off with the message battery critically low please charge. Now I’ve used diffrent chargers that worked with my other speakers (eliminating the cable for source of error) however when charging I believe a white LED should activate leading me to belive the error in the port but I am unsure wether the problem lies within the port or the battery itself.

Thank you all answers can help!

All sound from the speaker are affected, even system sounds like power on/off, battery status and so on. It doesn't sound like some debree is touching the speaker, but rather software/hardware fault. I have still not disassembled, so I cannot be sure.

UE BOOM 2: Why does my speaker stop playing?

My UE2 is updated, charged, paired, and has great sound quality. My issue is that it just stops playing with the power on. I have had Apple trouble shoot my iPhone and iPad… nothing wrong. When I play music on my phone or pad, no problem. As soon as I attach it to the speaker, it plays for a few minutes, then stops. It’s frustrating because I have had this speaker for a few years and love it! Then this started maybe 6 months ago. Logitech has had me unpair and pair to both devices and reset several times!
UE BOOM 2: Megaboom 100% Charged and not staying ON

Good Afternoon

My UE Megaboom will no longer stay turned on even though it is 100% charged. It has not been dropped or mistreated and would be about 12 months old.

Both power light and Bluetooth light flash then go off. It will stay on if connected to power.

In addition, even when connected to power and ON, it will now not connect via Bluetooth to my iPhone, no matter how close the phone is held to the unit.

I have reset the Megaboom but still no luck.

I have been able to connect via Bluetooth to the smaller UE Boom2 owned by someone else and everything works, so it seems the problem exists with my Megaboom.

Any ideas/suggestions? Feedback and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

UE BOOM 2: UE Boom 2 (white) exterior cleaning tips?

Hi, my friend gave me his old, white UE Boom 2 since he bought himself a nice new portable bluetooth speaker. He’s a smoker and also has very greasy/dirty hands because this thing currently is less white and more of an off-white cream color with black smudges and spots on it. Anyone have any good tips/tricks on how to clean it to “improve” the appearance. He said it’s waterproof but that could mean a lot of things. If I were to run it under a kitchen sink faucet and scrub it with soap and a sponge or toothbrush would that do irreparable harm? I saw a post about the UE Megaboom (blue/black) with an answer about using Windex on theirs and scrubbing and then wiping with a clean rag. I wanna take better care of this speaker than my friend since it still works fine, I just want to make it look just a little bit better if possible.
