Typewriter: return button on panasonic r305 goes only down not back

hi everyone

my mother recently left me a panasonic r305 electronic typewriter

the problem:

when I hit the return botton, instead of going down and back to the beginning of the line, it just goes down and stays on the same "column".

if I switch it off and then on, it restarts and goes back to the beginning. but u can imagine that's not something I want to do every time.

I'm gessing it has something to do with margin setting? I can't find the instruction manual anywhere online, and there doesn't seem to be any button or lever to move the carrier mannually

any thoughts? ideas?

thankss

Typewriter: Tabulator on Smith Corona Classic 12 is not working?

I have Smith Corona typewriter Classic 12 that I had polished up and refurbished. It was working until (I think) it fell off my desk. It seems now the Tabulator is not working to set tabs. There is a set button on the top to the left, tabulator in the middle, and clear button on the right. When I set it to a position for tabbing and then press the tab key, it either skips ahead a space or get to the position a space before, and then also doesn't stop at all. I tried clearing it after moving the moving piece to complete right and then hit clear. Still the problems persists. I looked at all the springs, the ones I could see at least, but everything looks intact. I don't know if its the teeth or soemthing else, but any help appreciated. thx.

Typewriter: Brother CE60 does not write certain letters.

My electric typewriter Brother CE60 does not write certain letters. These are: comma, period, minus-sign, both accents (‘ `), and the apostrophe (‘). Otherwise it works fine. What can the reason for this be?

Typewriter: The keys don't return, all jam up.

I have an old, 1950’s manual typewriter, hasn’t been used in years. I have sewing machine oil, but I don’t know if I should use that or just spray WD-40 at the thing. I know in oiling any moving parts should be oiled but that’s all I know. When I depress a key it stays there and doesn’t return.
