Tractor: Troy built pony will start when jumping the solenoid but not with key.

I put in a new starter solenoid, and ignition key. I tried jumping the two wires from the solenoid to the ignition and no luck. I checked the safety switches and the three look ok. I bench tested the solenoid and when I put power to it it clicks.

1) how do I bypass the safety switches completely, not zip tie them. 2)Are they breaking a circuit or completing one?

Again when I jump the solonid it turns over just not with the key… help

Tractor: Case 1070 Ag King Starter will not stop trying to start the tractor

The starter keeps engaging even with the key off. I recently had the starter rebuilt. It ran fine for a week or so with many starts and stops. Now the starter engages any time I connect the battery. I replaced the ignition switch yesterday but it didn't fix it. Other changes include Generator to Alternator a few years ago.

Tractor: Starting a small Massey Ferguson farm tractor?

My small Massey Ferguson tractor has died. The battery is charged up, the electrical doesn't appear to be damaged, the starter seems to be okay, I have removed and cleaned the ignition switch, but nothing causes the starter to turn over. Next step seems to be to replace the ignition switch. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks.

Tractor: new battery discharging immediately on 1950’s Massey Ferguson 50

I recently replaced the battery in my Tractor and now it immediately drains battery when I try to start it. Tried my car battery in it and it did the same thing. It was running prior to this. Hooked it up the same way old one was using new new cables. Any ideas?

Tractor: Why does my lawnmower die when I engage the blades?

My 1988 John Deere 175 Hydro Lawn Tractor dies when I engage the blades.

If I disengage the blades quickly after engaging them it will normally stay alive.

Before it dies it does do a power down; it almost sounds like I've turned the key off but I think a key turn off takes a touch less time.

It just started doing this out of the blue. When it initially happened the mower died in the middle of a cutting. After that it wouldn't start. It was suggested to me to replace the fuel filter, so I did. Mower still wouldn't start. I walked for maybe a half hour and came back to the mower starting right up. From that point on the mower starts and runs like it always has but now will not stay on when the blades are engaged.

The blades spin like normal if I reach under and push by hand.

Yard-Man 18HP Intek Twin V OHC Briggs & Stratton Family: YBSXS.7242HK, Air index of 3. Was given to me but having issues with it? it starts up fine but very loud, extremely hard on fuel, lacks power running up the slightest uphill climb while cutting? what would be the process of elimination strategy to diagnose the overall issue? any advice?

So can anyone diagnose what may be the problem with this mower? I inherited it and the previous owner reported it was very hard to start and took 10-15 minutes of cranking before it would catch. I took apart the carburetor and cleaned that real well, replaced the spark plug. It drives around ok but when at the top of a small hill started losing power and nearly stalled out. When I finally got it to start it was very loud and just my opinion sounded like what I think is a timing problem, but I apologize for the vague question I’m not sure where to start. Can someone tell me if that’s a good guess, how to fix it, and what other things I might look for if that’s not the problem?

John Deere: Gas in crankcase is engine ruined

Have a JD Z465 with briggs 27hp. Forgot to shut fuel off after cutting grass last time. Went to start it, had to choke it, bluish smoke came billowing out the exhaust. Checked the oil and it was full of gas. Drained the oil, flushed with clean oil, new filter, new oil, still blowing bluis smoke like crazy. Is the engine ruined?

John Deere: John Deere GX335 deck height adjuster doesnt work

The knob turns freely but doesnt adjust. The knob is not broken, its not the style on youtube where the plastic breaks. I can turn the knob but the adjuster underneath does not turn. I can turn the adjuster underneath by hand. Not sure even how to get to it to repair it when i do find the cause, there are a lot of pulleys and such in the way. Any help is appreciated.

Kohler: Engine will run for 2-5 minutes then die

Engine on Kohler powered tractor will start and run for 2-5 minutes then die. It will not crank for 5-10 minutes. After waiting a bit it will crank and then do same. It does this regardless of outside or engine temps. I have run a jump wire to fuel solenoid to rule out the silenoid stopping fuel at float bowl. I've replaced the air filter and checked all fuel lines for crimps. The fuel pump seems to be working also as i can see fuel flow thru the clear housing of fuel filter and it maintains a constant fuel level. I'm stumped.

Cub Cadet Tractor: Dies and will not restart

I'm assuming the battery or voltage regulator, but just to check with people who know a lot more than I do...

1 year old xt1. Heard a very loud POP while mowing, and a couple minutes later it started acting as if it was going to die. I shut it down and tried to restart it, nothing. Lights on, battery at 11.8. Shop told me to jump it. Took a minute, but it started. Ran it for a few minutes, shut it down and tried to restart it and nothing. Jumped it again and decided to try mowing again. 30 seconds, started to die. Turned off the PTO (lever style) and it ran fine for several minutes until I parked it. Next day, battery showed only 8.9. The loud POP throws me off. Obviously not holding a charge, so still battery first? Thank you.
