ThinkPhone: Problems keeping a network connection for a few months.

I had my thinkphone for 13 months with absolutely no problems I love the phone. Unfortunately I dropped it too hard one night and from then on had problems staying connected to the network. It was every so often at first and after a few months it became constant. So I just opened it up and doing a visual inspection I noticed the black coax cable was disconnected from the main board. Thinking that would be an easy fix I unfortunately noticed that it wasn't disconnected but the entire connector was broken off of the main board. Does anyone know if the black coax cable has anything to do with network connection and wasn't the cable held in place when the cover was attached before I removed it. Obviously now I think the whole phone is trash because the connector is broken off of the main board so I'm super bummed.
