<title><![CDATA[Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen: Laptop won't charge - No charging light.]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Hello hello all.</p>

<p>I've been given a family members laptop (Lenovo Carbon X1 6th Gen) and It won't charge, I've done the basic tests of different wall ports, different chargers, removing the battery but no luck at all.</p>

<p>The laptop won't even turn on with just the power cable - Normally there is meant to be a amber light next to charger port when its charging which isn't coming on either.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon 4th Gen: Laptop won't turn on]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>I’ve been using laptop over the night and the laptop runs just fine. Then in the morning I want to turn it on but the LED on the power button and the the keyboard backlit just turn on and then off again and the laptop won’t turn on. I’ve tried the reset hole on the back and try to press the power button for a long time. but still not work. is it the power chip or something else?</p>

<title><![CDATA[Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen: Just got a Replacement Battery from iFixit put in, "Not Charging"]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>My Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon's battery was reporting that it was running at 81% of full capacity, so I decided to break down and order a new laptop battery. I knew about iFixit's reputability when it comes to DIY repairs, and it seemed like this would be a relatively easy swap considering my electrical background. Everything went according to plan, but now that it's in the laptop the upower command returns that the battery capacity is 0%, and when it's maximally charged it's still 0%.</p>

<p>Did I get a dud battery, or is there something obviously wrong with what I'm doing.</p>

<title><![CDATA[ThinkPad X1 Carbon (3rd Gen): Screen not working (PC works fine)]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I will try to explain the situation:</p>

<p>A few weeks ago, sometimes when I turned on the PC, the screen would not display image, after a minute, it would (the rest of the computer worked perfectly, if I connected it to an external monitor, you could use it with no trouble). After a couple of days, those times the problem occurred, it would not fix by itself, so I had to reset the computer and hope it would work (sometimes it did).</p>

<p>Then, a few days ago, the problem became permanent. Again, with an external monitor, there would be no problem.</p>

<p>Troubleshooting I tried is:</p>

<ol><li>Remove the battery, let it rest for 5 minutes, drain the remaining energy by pressing the start button for 60 seconds (not connected to the power nor any peripherals). Then, plugging it to the ac power (still no battery) and turn it on. After this, screen displayed image again and lead me to a menu which let me &quot;Continue&quot; or &quot;Go to configuration&quot;. I selected to &quot;Continue&quot; but lost image again and had to restart, but this time, image was completely gone again. I tried it several times but with no result.</li><li>After step 1, I started the computer by pressing shitf, f8 and the power button. Like the first time in the last step, I had image again, and could access to that menu, this time selecting the configuration option, which led me to the BIOS. I reset everything to default and saved and exit. Once again, when computer restarted, no image. If I tried it again, I would not have results.</li><li>Remove SSD.</li><li>Unplug keyboard.</li><li>Clean the ventilator.</li></ol>

<p>Given RAM is sodded, there is no way to reconnect it. Is there any solution to this? It looks like a software problem to me, because if it were hardware related it would not start working depending in the start up option.</p>

<title><![CDATA[ThinkPad X1 Carbon (3rd Gen): Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 3 LVDS fuse blown? Display blank]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Replacing cracked screen on 3rd generation Thinkpad X1 Carbon.  Cust used for a while with cracked screen and then it went black after a few days. Installed new screen, still black.  No image at all. System still works fine when external monitor is connected however checking in device manager built in screen is not detected at all so it's not just backlight.  Thinking maybe a blown fuse or issue with LED driver?  Can't find schematics for this motherboard.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen: Replacement battery doesn't work]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>I purchased a replacement battery for my 6th gen ThinkPad X1 Carbon. The old battery’s life was down to only lasting about an hour and would shut off without giving me any warning. Swapping the battery was easy, but the new one didn’t work at all. The laptop complained that there was a battery problem and it refused to charge. I tried removing and reseating it, upgrading drivers, etc. Nothing helped. I’m back to the old battery now. Is there anything else I can try before I return the battery? Could it just be this replacement that is bad and I should get another one, or is there some reason why no replacement battery will work?</p>

<title><![CDATA[ThinkPad X1 Carbon (5th Gen): Guide to diagnose/repair charging circuit of X1 Carbon 5th Gen]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>I'm having trouble with my X1 Carbon 5th Gen laptop. I believe the charger cable may have <strong>short-circuited</strong>, as it caused the computer to turn off.</p>

<p>I replaced the charger with a new one, but now the laptop exhibits the following behavior:</p>

<ul><li>The LED in the power button blinks, but the laptop <strong>doesn't turn on</strong>.</li><li>The battery <strong>doesn't seem to be charging</strong>, even after leaving it plugged in for a while.</li><li>I inspected the motherboard there is no trace of burnt capacitor or chip.</li></ul>

<p>I'm hoping someone here can help me diagnose the problem and suggest potential solutions.</p>

<p>I have purchased  lenovo x1 carbon ( 7th generation) 1 month ago.Everything was working fine,and one day when i switched on my laptop i see this error <strong>2100: Detection error on Storage Device(M.2)</strong>.I have taken out the ssd and plugged-to another laptop it gives me same error.Now I wanted to recover my data the problem is  that I am using different recovery tools but ssd is not showing in all the recovery tools.Any solution of this problem?And can any one tell me the reason of this error?</p>

<title><![CDATA[Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen: Display/ screen has failed many times]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, I have had this Gen 7 Lenovo Carbon X1 Since 2020. The details are below but the summary of this text is basically me asking if this model has screen/ display issues or if I've just had bad luck and should keep fixing it or give up altogether and buy a new laptop even though other than the display this one works incredible well.<br /><br />A few months in to buying this brand new laptop off the lenovo website, the screen started failing, when I would try to turn it on, the screen would be black and the computer would make a noise. I sent it in a few times, and every time it'd be fine for a few days or weeks if I was lucky and fail again but since I had already sen t it in twice, they began ignoring my requests for repais until I upped my warranty and was able to actually talk to someone who told me they had never replaced the screen and sent a technician to my house to do so. By this time 3 years had passed and I had put the computer aside and bought another since it was unusable without an external display and I travel a lot so I needed a functional laptop. When the technician changed the screen, he didn't seal the bottom well, which I pointed out to him and he said this wasn't a problem. A year later the screen began failing again, but this time it's mostly flickers and has different color stripes go through it, and goes black and blue and pink and all the colors hahah, BUT I <em>can</em> jimmy it around and put pressure on certain points and it goes back to being perfect until I move it or touch it a certain way, or close it, and so I've been doing that for about 6 months. My dilemma now is that I would like to change the screen because I'm going abroad again and I don't want my screen which I rely on for work to die on me again overseas, but I don't want to invest in another screen if every screen I end up getting is going to be faulty. Is this a screen defect of this model or have I just had bad luck with these past 2 and the lenovo repair technicians?</p>

<title><![CDATA[Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen: Won't power on when shutdown unless all battery and adapter is removed]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>The computer seems to physically be running fine. If the user shuts it down correctly, it will not power on again until the battery is removed, and the adapter is unplugged.</p>

<p>I have updated the OS, and I have also run the power management driver updates. Any ideas?</p>

<title><![CDATA[ThinkPad X1 Carbon (1st Gen): Screen white and coloured lines]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>I’ve had my laptop for a couple months now and a few days ago I recently say a small white dot appearing on the screen. I didn’t think nothing of it as I was watching Netflix on it and thought It was just the film. The next day I go open the laptop and see half of my screen is white and the rest has coloured lines. There appears to be a crack on the screen but when I power off the laptop there is no signs of cracks. If there anyway I can fix this.</p>

<p>i have thinkpad x1 gen2 with black screen, i can see faint image with torch and external display works fine, i disassemble it and saw a blown fuse under lvds connector on main-board, i replaced it with same fuse and it blown right away after single test, there is an 8pin IC next to the fuse which i believe to be for black-light or something which is not good i think, i want to replace it but i can not read its number so i can order it, will someone help me identify this IC,</p>
