ThinkPad X1 Carbon (3rd Gen): X1 Carbon Gen 3 - turns on but no display, no error code, no beep.

Hi,

Till yesterday my X1 Carbon Gen 3 - Type 20BT was working fine, two days before internal battery failure message displayed while working on windows 10,

And like a year throwing CMOS battery error message about time date error while booting, pressed esc and laptop was working fine with laptop charger.

Today I didn't turn on.

since laptop internal battery is dead so connecting charger is the only power source.

once laptop charger is connected, laptop power button led ,keyboard backlight turns and function key led (fn) turns on and power button Led stays on but keyboard backlight and funtion key led (fn) goes off and no display, no beep code.

CPU turns on for 2 sec and goes off.

Tried with external monitor - no luck.

Tried resseting the Reset button with internal battery connected and disconnected (with back cover installed because there is a switch to check whether backcover is installed or not) - no luck.

RAM are soldered so nothing to do...

ThinkPad X1 Carbon: Liquid damage to display and motherboard connnectors

Got liquid damage on the brand new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 13th Gen (Aura Edition). Everything works except display. Upon closer inspection, it looks like both the motherboard female and display's male connectors are a bit burnt.

I tried cleaning up both with 99% isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush, but no luck.

Q1: Is there any point of trying to open up the display panel itself - is this cable usually soldered on the other end or is it connected the same way as to the motherboard? Ideally I'd swap the cable only, as the display panel is likely 100% functional. The laptop was open when the spill occurred, no liquid went on the screen.

Q2: Is the motherboard side female connector obtainable and replaceable with hot air, or am I looking at a whole new motherboard?

TIA

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen: Display/ screen has failed many times

Hello, I have had this Gen 7 Lenovo Carbon X1 Since 2020. The details are below but the summary of this text is basically me asking if this model has screen/ display issues or if I've just had bad luck and should keep fixing it or give up altogether and buy a new laptop even though other than the display this one works incredible well.

A few months in to buying this brand new laptop off the lenovo website, the screen started failing, when I would try to turn it on, the screen would be black and the computer would make a noise. I sent it in a few times, and every time it'd be fine for a few days or weeks if I was lucky and fail again but since I had already sen t it in twice, they began ignoring my requests for repais until I upped my warranty and was able to actually talk to someone who told me they had never replaced the screen and sent a technician to my house to do so. By this time 3 years had passed and I had put the computer aside and bought another since it was unusable without an external display and I travel a lot so I needed a functional laptop. When the technician changed the screen, he didn't seal the bottom well, which I pointed out to him and he said this wasn't a problem. A year later the screen began failing again, but this time it's mostly flickers and has different color stripes go through it, and goes black and blue and pink and all the colors hahah, BUT I can jimmy it around and put pressure on certain points and it goes back to being perfect until I move it or touch it a certain way, or close it, and so I've been doing that for about 6 months. My dilemma now is that I would like to change the screen because I'm going abroad again and I don't want my screen which I rely on for work to die on me again overseas, but I don't want to invest in another screen if every screen I end up getting is going to be faulty. Is this a screen defect of this model or have I just had bad luck with these past 2 and the lenovo repair technicians?

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 9th Gen: X1 Carbon Gen 9 doesn't turn on anymore after discharging

I was using my laptop to browse the web as usual. The battery was running low, but I kept using it until it shut down. So, I went to charge it and picked it up a few hours later, but it hadn't charged, the orange/amber charging light doesnt turn on and the laptop doesn't boot. I’ve tried using another charger, resetting the battery using the pin on the back, and I’ve also tried removing both the battery and the CMOS battery for an hour, but nothing worked. The only response I get is that the fans spin briefly every time I press the reset pin on the back, but then the laptop turns off after a few seconds.

Is it dead? Is there anything I can do to bring it back to life?
