I have a Thinkpad which was pulled off the couch by my cat.  Stop laughing.  The tip of the USB-C power cord bent when it fell onto the floor.  I was able to bend it enough to have it work,  but I would like to replace the tip.  I am not scared of soldering, etc. but I want to make sure I use a good tip.  I was thinking of buying a good quality USB-C cable and cutting it and matching up the wires.   Before I strip or cut the end off and examine the wires etc, I was hoping to get some feedback. Any suggestions?

It looks like a touchpad hardware problem.

Windows 10 Device Manager indicates Error 24 on the touchpad device driver.

Is there a Touchpad Replcement guide ?

How can I verify if it is a simple misconnected cable or the device itself?

Although I cannot relate the touchpad malfunction to a previous lab visit (on another issue) it might be a simple issue of not re-assembling a flat-cable or something.
