Multimeter: Is there anything materially different about this 115?

For context, this is listed as a FLUKE-115/LT meter. I also noticed the UPC and model is different from the retail version (Retail SKU: 095969324182/FLUKE-115). For example when I lokup the retail 115 UPC, this is what I see: https://www.barcodelookup.com/0959693241...

Now, likewise, when I search for this 115/LT, this is what I get: Barcode Doesn't Exist in Our Database

As best I can tell, this is likely a standard 115, branded by the school as a theft deterrent, purchased in bulk. It's that or they were supplied as part of the tuition or school surplus. I know if it is surplus, it is probably due for calibration because some red tape says it has to be done, but due to the cost of the "student meters" they replace them and surplus the old ones out.

Based on everything I see here, there's no difference from my retail 115 - it's just gently used as a classroom meter, OR it was briefly used by a student who left the trade/upgraded.

@danj here's what the leads look like - same as a retail 115:

continuous beeping even with test leads removed.

checked battery and opened it up with no showing of corrosion or something shorting anything. Fuse still intact also did not work with high voltages.

Was checking some dead phone batteries at the time and when got back to it it kept beeping.

does not want to work in any other mode at all.

ZOYI ZT-703S: Multimeter function is not working

Hello. I have a ZT-703S with a problem: the oscilloscope function works fine, all buttons work, and it takes measurements normally. However, when I switch to the multimeter function, only a few windows appear, including the analog scale, but no numbers appear. It no longer responds to functions like diode, resistance, and voltage. I updated the firmware and reset the settings to factory settings, but it still hasn't returned to normal. Does anyone know how to fix this?

MCH-108 Digital Multimeter: Is the continuity test suitable for sweeping IC pins?

Looking to buy my first multimeter. I have access to an old RadioShack multimeter that struggles with continuity, often taking a full second or more before beeping when the probes are shorted. I am looking for a multimeter for home projects and small repairs/tinkering so accuracy isn't necessarily my top concern, but responsiveness is as it will help reduce uncertainty and be more enjoyable to use.

If I quickly drag the probe across IC pins, will it:
A. Beep if a single pin is shorted to the other probe (not likely to miss a short)
B. Be reasonably noticeable to the average person. (loud beep on quick short)

I don't need it to be latching, just reasonably usable for this use case. I have used multimeters very briefly and am basically completely new to the hobby.
