TI-84 Plus: Line of keys not working.

I've had my calculator for years and use it frequently. Today, an area of keys - specifically "0", "1", "4", "7", ",", "sin", "apps", "x^2", "(", ")" stopped working. All other keys work fine. I've tried restarting, system reset, and changing batteries. I don't know if it's possible water damage (I have cats) or something else.

TI-84 Plus: Calculator turns on but keys don't work

Hi,

I have a TI-84 Plus. The calculator’s keys stopped working, as I was using it yesterday. I could still see the numbers I had typed, but could no longer type anything.

I took the batteries out and put them back in. I was able to turn on the device, but couldn’t do anything else. So power button is the only thing that works for me. I can’t even turn it back off.

I tried removing the internal battery. Didn’t work.

I took the entire calculator apart and cleaned the keys. Didn’t work.

I tried connecting the calculator to a computer via a usb mini cable but I wasn’t able to make the TI Connect CE software recognize the device. When I try to connect the TI when it is ON, it stops blinking with the cursor the moment the usb cable is plugged in. However, the TI CONNECT CE software doesn’t list it as a connected calculator.

Is there anything else I can do to help fix it?

TI-84 Plus: Unable to access F1-F5 menus despite all other alpha functions working

While I was trying to solve a logarithmic question, I tried to find the logBase( operation via pressing [ALPHA] > [WINDOW], however doing that only leads me to the Window screen and not the F2 screen as I had hoped.

I tried the same thing with the other function menus, and the result was the same thing for each and every button on the top row. All other alpha functions work, I can still type in the alphabet along with the other special characters available when you press the alpha button, I just can’t access the F1-F5 menus. This calculator is on firmware version 2.43, so I believe it’s not firmware related. It has some applications installed from the time that my dad used this calculator in college, however I doubt that any of them would interfere with my ability to access the F1-F5 menus.

I made a quick video to go along with this just in case if my question doesn’t make sense.

TI-84 Plus: Will this operate without batteries?

Received the calculator from someone for my granddaughter. No user guide or charging cord. I happened to have the correct cord from another TI calculator. I have no idea how to use the device but my question is can the calculator be used by being charged with that cord alone and with no AAA batteries inside? Also, should there be a light to show the device is charging? I’ve been charging the device for about an hour, no batteries inside, and no light comes on. Tried to turn on but didn’t come on. Thank you.

TI-84 Plus: Been charging for over 8 hours, light indicates still charging

So absolute disclaimer; This calculator worked fine in high school for me. However, it’s been around 4 years and as such the calculator has been sitting in a box unused for that time. I’m trying to see if it still works to sell it. At the time I’m posting this it’s been charging with the amber light indicator for 21 hours. Over this time I’ve tried turning it on multiple times with no luck. Should I let it continue to charge until I get a green light or is something wrong?
