TCL Television: TCL TV keeps flashing black on and off

My TCL tv keeps flashing black on and off. It's not a complete solid black, kinda transparent on the left side and transitions to solid on the right. It's happened a few times and eventually fixed itself bit has now happened again.

Sound is unaffected. Can't be the hdmi as it happens even when no cord is plugged in and the no signal screen comes up. Power supply is plugged into a surge protector.

Any thoughts?

TCL Television: TCL No Backlight, Black Screen, Flashlight Test Good, Menu Sounds Good

I have a 55” TCL Roku TV (55S405TNAA) that was working fine, then the next time it was turned on has no picture. Clicks are audible when adjusting the volume or navigating the menu. Flashlight test does show the menu.

Is this most likely a panel issue or an LED strip issue? If one LED strip goes out does it deactive the rest?

I feel confident and comfortable that I could replace any of the panels.

I do not feel so comfortable about replacing the LED strips after watching a youtube video…hoping its not that.

TCL Television: Split screen with a double image.

I have a 55” Roku 4K TCL TV. The internal boards were changed by a qualified tech to repair a problem. Unfortunately, after the repair the TV is now stuck with a double image on the screen. It’s like the screen has been split down the middle and the images are identical on the left and right sides of the screen. This tv had all the internal boards changed by a qualified service tech to repair a problem, but he left me with this worst problem. He tried many times on the repair visit to use the remote to correct the issue with no success, and the tv has be reset to factory mode many times. Nothing has worked to help this issue.

TCL Television: TCL TV made loud pop and stopped working

I bought a TCL 55in 4K Roku TV about 3 months ago, and today while I was watching Netflix, it made a loud popping sound (like a breaker flipping) and then there was no power. I thought maybe my surge protector had flipped, but upon checking it everything was fine. I have tried unplugging the TV and plugging it back in, different power cords, even power cycling and nothing happens. Any idea what's going on or how I can fix it?

TCL Television: Black screen issue, but only intermittently

Hello, I’ve seen other posts about the black screen issue on TCL TVs, but mine is a bit different. I have a 55S405 purchased in 2017. As others have described, when I turn on the power the screen is typically black but audio works fine. However — I can get it working under some circumstances. Powering on the TV via a connected CEC input device works 50% of the time. AirPlaying something from my iPhone works 75% of the time. But simply powering on from the TCL remote almost never works.

When it does work, the picture is normal, full brightness and full color. However, there is usually a “double image” — a faint outline of the proper image, duplicated and shifted about 2 inches to the right. It’s mostly visible when standing close to the screen and higher up.

I have tried rebooting, unplugging for several hours, factory reset via the software menu, and factory reset via the reset switch on the back, to no avail. I’ve seen other answers suggesting the black screen is due to failed LED strips. However, in my case the screen clearly does work, at least to some degree. Does anyone have suggestions for boards etc. that I should try replacing? Thank you!

TCL Television: Is this a bad t con? Don't know much about t.v.

I have a 55 inch TCL roku tv. a couple months ago it started having vertical lines on the left side of the screen, so I switched it with the tv in the basement which we barely used. It occasionally would have so many lines that you couldn't even see the picture but after being on for a few minutes, it would call down and only hab e a few lines, and still be able to watch. Now the screen totally went black, but still has that I guess black glow, like when it is on an input with nothing connected. The sound is fine. could this be a t con problem? also, when the screen was working (still with lines) when I would power on, and it said “TCL"…. there were no lines, they would come right after this screen came on. Please help, I am broker than broke and can't afford a new t.v!
