T-Mobile G1: Why does my camera/camcorder application force close?

I have rooted G1 running the latest Cyanogen 4.2.3.1. Unfortunately, my camera/camcorder app force closes and refuses to open. I have wiped, reformated the SD, restored to stock G1 ROM, even went as far as trying another ROM thats not Cyanogen (*GASP*), but everytime it force closes. I am thinking it might be a hardware problem, but I'm not sure. Help!

T-Mobile G1: Why did the phone stop getting a signal?

Recently my phone stopped getting a signal. Having no memory of dropping it, bumping into something with the phone in pocket, or placing it near any liquids, I can't figure out why the phone says "No Service". Accessing Settings>Wireless Controls>Mobile Networks>Network Operators, and selecting "Search Networks" result in finding either AT&T or no carrier at all. However, tapping the bottom right corner of the phone (Front Side) gently, on something such as the inner part of the knee, sometimes enables the phone to acquire a network connection. Strangely, placing a call while the phone is connected to a network will put it back in the "No Service" state after only a few seconds, while texting or simply leaving it be will allow it to remain in service much longer. Is there a solution??

T-Mobile G1: What is the use of the 'teardown'?

The 'Teardown' page is interesting but not much use. To me a teardown is a step by step disassembly, not just pictures of an already disassembled phone with 'steps' alongside that are not steps at all, just a rather superficial description of the unit, mixed in with equally interesting but pointless detail.

I want to replace a broken screen, so how much of the phone do I take apart and where do I start? This 'Teardown' tells me next to nothing of how to go about it.

Full marks for interest and zero for usefulness.
