2008-2013 Subaru Forester: White smoke coming from under the hood, but disappears and runs fine.

My subaru will have white smoke coming out from under the hood and smells like burning oil or rubber, but eventually the smell will go away and the smoke will go away. The car runs perfectly fine. I have looked under the hood when it had some smoke coming out and it seems like its coming more from the bottom of the car. Any ideas?

2014-Present Subaru Forester: Oul drain plug vs cvt oil plug locations and is it possible to confuse

Went into a new shop for routine oil change. Came out with check engine light, turns out they overfilled oil but messed around under trying to figure that out. They drained to appropriate levels, I left and now it seems the transmission is shaky and has slippage as well as slow acceleration. I'vebeen reading a bit about this and others have had this mistake happen to them.. I would like an image of the undercarriage to see the location of both plugs and the remedy

2002-2008 Subaru Forester: Stuck rear right brake

My Forester 2008, 2.0, non turbo, manual trans, has the same problem for months: when I first start driving the car, it starts off pretty well, but after about 15 minutes worth of driving my brakes start to feel tighter and it gets harder for my car to accelerate. I have tried to change the supposed culprit rear right brake bands, then to cut both edges in every band, but nothing works. Reading about it, seems the fail is on the ABS system. I have exact the same problem as you: after 15-20 minutes driving, the problem appears. I read someone extracted the ABS module, put it on a cardboard box and with a heat pistol, heated the module for a while. That trick solved the problem. I will do the same when I have the time and the heat pistol available (now I have only the box ;). I would like to know if someone could solve in other way that problem? Thank you!

2014-Present Subaru Forester: Why does Eyesight system go offline shortly after turning on vehicle?

So my Eyesight system goes offline about 3min after ignition. This will happen even if I don't use Eyesight for cruise control driving, just leaving the system to detect lanes or crash avoidance. If I do use Eyesight cruise control it will work fine for those first three minutes. Doesn't seem to me a calibration issue, cause when its working before time it works just fine. Is there a fuse or something?

2014-Present Subaru Forester: Sunroof only closes part way, suddenly reverses all the way open

First, I might be breaking the rules here. If so, sorry - tell me how to fix it and I will. I have solved this already, wanted to put this here for others' benefit.

It appears to work normally until about 3" away from closing, then suddenly reverses to full-open.

No idea what started the problem, just started yesterday.

All kinds of monkeying around with the tracks, cleaning, sliding shade..... No luck

How to fix it:

- open sunroof all the way

- close in short bursts - pushing and releasing the button, less than a second each time. Do it so the window moves about 1/2" at a time.

In my case, as it was almost closed there was a thud at the back edge of the window. I freaked, but kept doing the 1/2 inch moves.

Window closed all the way, including the lifting of the back to seal the back edge.

You're welcome😀
