SteelSeries Arctis 7 2019 Edition Wireless: Problem after charging connector repair

Hi,

I decided to try to fix the SteelSeries Arctis 7 (2019 Edition) wireless headphones.

The microUSB charging connector was broken and I couldn't charge the headphones.

The connector broke off from the PCB and caused some damage there. I gave up on soldering a new connector in advance, I decided to just use two wires for charging only.

When I opened the headphones, I immediately put a new battery in them - Maybe I didn't do that smartly because I did two things at once.

I soldered the wires where the connector was and applied hot glue around it so the wires wouldn't break right away.

First day - headphones looked fine. New battery seemed to be charging (LED gradually changed color from yellow to green).

test a few hours of operation - no problems.

The next day - the headphones won't turn on.

They only turn on when they are connected to the charger. When I disconnect them from the charger, they turn off after a few seconds and won't turn on. I tried the HW reset button.

I don't know if it's a problem with the new battery or a repair on the connector. It seems strange to me that they worked on the first day.
My main question:

The first day when I was soldering the wires for charging, I momentarily mixed up the polarity of +5V.

So I connected the charger with the polarity reversed, but after I realized it and put it in correctly, the headphones worked and I did the test for a few hours from battery.

Do you think the damage caused by reversed polarity would only become apparent the next day?

Do you have any tips on what I can try, let's say in amateur conditions?

Currently, the battery voltage is 4.1 V. They won't turn on unless I plug them into the charger. Then I can turn them on.

When they are connected to the charger, I can turn them on and pair them with the PC and they work - but they are not "wireless" then.

Thank you for any response, I hope you are doing well and have a lot of success with your work on YouTube.

Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro: Mute button and volume wheel wearing out, how to fix?

I bought my headphones in 2022, and they have seen some serious wear, but now the headset mute button while it still presses up and down, either doesn't mute me, or doesn't fully mute me (I can still hear a little hit of my voice through monitor), and my volume wheel on the headset doesn’t cleanly go up and down; You now have to turn the wheel precisely right or else one earphone is slightly louder/quieter than the other, on-top of a electrical scratchy noise when you turn it.

Any solutions to fixing it? I do own WD-40 contact cleaner which works well on my meta quest 2 joysticks, but skeptical of using it on my headphones because it seized up my switch pro controller joysticks, making them very hard to move and not fluid anymore.

SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless: Why does my headset work when plugged in but not power on wirelessly?

This is sort of my last resort, as SteelSeries support/the few YouTube videos I have found haven't solved anything. My current Pro Wireless stopped powering via the power button about a few weeks ago very all of a sudden (no lights turn on, no beep to indicate that it is on, and both batteries read on the transmitter as fully charged). It just stopped one day while it was hanging on my monitor (no real damage was ever done on this headset). Here's all the information I have gathered:

1) The only way it functions normally like it did before it stopped powering is when it is plugged directly into my PC via the 8-pin connecter it comes with. It essentially still works, but only when plugged in with the 8-pin connector (excluding usage of the microphone).
2) When I plug in the charging cable (the micro-USB to USB cable), the light next to the power button doesn't turn on, but it starts breathing (lighting up and then lighting back down on repeat). I have no idea if this does anything. I believe it just means its charging, but it hasn't done me any good so far, as both batteries are recognized by my transmitter as fully charged. My PC also detects the headset under devices with this method, but it is incapable of doing anything with it.
3) My updated SteelSeries software recognizes the transmitter, but prompts me to reconnect the headset (which I cannot do because it won't power on wirelessly, and it can't connect to the software through the 8-pin connector).

I have opened up the inside of the headset. Admittedly I'm no expert on this sort of thing, but compared to what I found online it visually looks as if everything is fine/appropriately soldered. Could it still potentially be faulty hardware, even though the headset works like normal when using the 8-pin connector? Perhaps it's a firmware issue that is causing a booting issue, and if so, would there be a way to communicate with the headset and update the firmware using the micro-USB cable? Thank you to anyone willing to look into this problem.

SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless: right speaker is broken should I attempt to repair or switch to wired

the point where the right speaker connects to the main headset is broken so no audio comes from it anymore, should I try to replace this headset with a more inexpensive and competent headset (cause cash is tight for me) or should I make an attempt to repair it, like I said only the right speaker is broken and before this happened I would usually play with only the left speaker directly on my ear so it’s mostly a nuisance.

SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless: Arctis Pro Wireless – Bluetooth LED Flashes 10 Times, Won’t Turn On

Hi everyone,

I have an Arctis Pro Wireless (White) headset and the Bluetooth function suddenly stopped working.

Symptoms:

When I hold the Bluetooth button, the blue LED flashes 10 times, then shuts off.

It never enters pairing mode.

The headset itself works normally with the base station.

Firmware is fully updated through SteelSeries GG.

Factory reset did not help.

Bluetooth memory clear did not help.

Important note:

The headset fell to the ground right before the issue started.

Volume wheel info:

The volume wheel works up/down normally — and I know it does not click inward (normal for this model).

What I want to know:

Is this symptom caused by a damaged Bluetooth module?

Could it be a loose connector or antenna cable inside the right earcup after the fall?

Has anyone fixed this by reseating the BT board or replacing it?

Is there a known part name/number for the Bluetooth daughterboard?

*

If anyone has experience opening the right earcup or repairing this exact issue, please let me know what to check.

Thanks!

The GameDAC can change the settings on the headset; however, I believe it must be a setting that I have forgotten to turn on.

SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless: The Line out on my transmitter has stopped working.

I’ve had my speakers connected to the line out of the wireless transmitter since I bought it. However, there is no longer any signal coming from the line out. I have tested that the speakers still work and connected another device to the line out but that doesn’t work either, so it has to be an issue with the line out. I have tried resetting the transmitter in case it is a software issue but still cannot get audio from the line out. Has anybody had this issue and have a fix?

SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless: Trying to replace power button on PCB

The power button attached to the pcb is now working once in a blue moon. Instead of powering it off and charging the battery with the base station, I just charge it with a cable while the headset is still on. If anyone knows which two connections I can short to bypass messing with the power button for an hour or how to replace the power button entirely, I would be very grateful.

At the very least, I know the batteries work. I've tested them with a multimeter and they show proper voltage and last about 15 hours, and work without error when I get the headset to power on. I've also tested the wires that go from the hot-swappable battery pins to the pcb, and they are showing very similar voltage. I've also tried leaving the battery disconnected for about an hour and then plugging it back in and trying the button which worked once, but im not sure if that is a fluke or not. Nothing on the pcb looks broken or damaged either.
