iPad 9: Where is the accelerometer

Hi all, I have an iPad 9th Gen (2021) where the rotation is not working. It does rotate but it is always 90 degrees out. So when you hold it in portrait the screen is rotated by 90 degrees as if in Landscape. I cannot find any info on where the accelerometer chip is, any help gratefully received.

I received this iPad as dead. It was a faulty NAND which I replaced with a new NAND after configuring the SYSCFG. It now works fine except for the rotation (please note this is after the restore and before activation (hello Screen), so no other apps loaded.

Thanks once again

iPad 9 Wi-Fi: iPad worked great. Went to sleep and never woke up.

My iPad worked great and had no issues. My iPad went to sleep and never woke up. When I needed to use my iPad again it wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in and it didn't register that it had been plugged in for charging. I took it to an apple store and they said it had "mid system failure". I just replaced the battery on it and it has the same issue. My next thought is to check the connector pins. I'm not positive on what "mid system failure" means, but I was curious if any one had any idea and what I should check next or should be checking instead? Any help is appreciated!
iPad Wi-Fi: No Speaker Sound - Headphones Work Fine

Hi All,

The sound on my iPad all of a sudden stopped working. The sound works fine with headphones in and I can change the volume, but when I unplug the headphones I get absolutely no sound from the speaker, and I can't even change the volume.

I originally thought this must have been a software issue so I went through all the settings, checked mute etc.

After that, I tried a reset using the power and home button, and I even restored to factory settings.

I then changed the speaker with a new one, still no luck.

I have now changed the headphone jack as I thought this may have been interfering, but there is still no sound.

Any help would be very much appreciated!!!

Thanks,

iPad 9: iPad 9 won't charge past 2% after screen digitizer replacement

Hello iFixit community!

So, I did a screen digitizer replacement for my mom's iPad 9th gen. This is actually the second digitizer replacement I have done on that iPad, I kinda botched the first one although it didn't have any issues with charging. The second time the repair went apparently smoothly. It was also bent so I had to take some time to bend it back into place.

After a while of my mom using it, she complains that when it charges the battery is stuck at 2%. The battery icon indicates that it is charging and it makes the chime when a charger is plugged in, but it still cannot charge past 2%. I tried force rebooting the iPad and that didn't seem to fix the issue either.

Idk if I accidentally damaged the battery or battery sensor during the repair, either when I was trying to bend the iPad back into place or when I placed a pick underneath the battery terminal as is customary when doing a repair to prevent shorts. I remember screwing the battery connector back in when finishing the repair.

iPad 7: I think im cooked.. Pulled charging port/cable on Ipad7, is it ruined?

My daughters Ipad randomly stopped turning on. She tells me it wasnt dropped, and no water damage. I dont see any obvious signs of physical damage, or water damage. I took the Ipad apart, and tried just replacing the battery, same thing, wont turn on. It is connected to a computer when I let it charge and attempt to turn on, and i can confirm the unit is not powering up, it is not just a screen issue. I pulled the charging port today, and I didnt educate myself before I did. I carefully pulled things apart, but just pulled the charging port cable off the motherboard. See pictures, is this now trashed?

iPad 7 Wi-Fi: CPU Replacement - SN reset to original, but failing activation

Hey all! Hoping someone can drop some insight for me.

Had an issue with an iPad 7th gen being braindead. When I removed its CPU, seems I didn't quite get it hot enough and caused an internal short. So I pulled another CPU from an iP7, reballed it, tossed it on, restored the ipad, Changed the SN through Purple back to the Original SN (no reason to have a different SN), restored again through DFU and am where I am now.

Boots fine, is locked to the owners iCloud, but when connecting to wifi I am getting Unable to activate
This ipad connot be activated without an internect connection...

Do I need to generate or change the BT and WIFI mac addresses as well? If so, it seems I do not have the originals to just program on through purple again. Is there something somewhere that can generate them based on the systems SN?

Hope someone knows this and can help!
Thanks - and Pics for fun.

iPad 2: Replaced wifi antenna, now wifi is working but bluetooth is not?

I replaced the glass on my Ipad 2 and did not read up properly beforehand.... After reassembly my wifi was awful although bluetooth was working OK. I bought a new wifi/bluetooth antenna and redid the procedure, making sure to be gentle with the new antenna and placing it right.

I reassembled again and wifi is perfect, I thought everything was good. Only now did I notice that I can no longer connect to my bluetooth logitech keyboard! I wondered if the keyboard was bad (it is new) so I tried to find my Ipad's bluetooth signal with my PC and it does not see any bluetooth devices.

Bluetooth settings on the ipad is not greyed out. It searches, but does not find anything. What might be wrong? Wifi is great but it seems I traded wifi for bluetooth, boo hoo..... =( I just updated to the latest IOS with no improvement. If I was to open it up a third time I still wouldn't know what to change, I followed the detailed guides on this page but still I may have messed something up. Is this isolated bluetooth issue familiar to anybody?
