I own a Marshall Kilburn unit and I used to love it. Well, unfortunately the volume output for the unit is too low now. I have no idea what happened, it does not matter if I use it with bluetooth or line in, it is all low. I also tried with and without the battery, same thing. Well, I hope I can get it to work somehow. Any ideas?

I have had this speaker for several years and have always preferred the depth of sound under AC power. So for most of its life it has not operated on the battery.

There was a period of time, 5-6 months where the speaker remained unplugged completely.

Now when I plug it in, the light is red indicating that is receiving power. When I press the power button, the light goes to white and gives the power up sound only briefly before giving the dead sound and powering back off. One full instance is maybe 7-10 seconds.

I am thinking the battery is either asleep or dead. I would like some input before committing to purchasing the replacement and doing the work.

TDK Speaker: TDK TW550 speaker connects via Bluetooth but produces no sound

The TDK TW550 speaker powers on, successfully connects via Bluetooth to my phone, and the source is confirmed to be in Bluetooth mode with volume turned up on both devices. However, no sound comes out of the speakers at all. I have tried re-pairing and adjusting the volume dial. What could be causing this issue and how can it be fixed?

Logitech Z623 Speaker System: Volume knob causes right speaker to drop out

I suspect this is a general issue that could happen to any device with an analogue volume knob, because I feel like I've experienced this issue more than a few times in my life. But I created a device page for this anyway.

The right speaker cuts out entirely, but if I tap the volume knob, the sound comes back. The left speaker doesn't have an issue.

FWIW, the right speaker houses all the controls for the system, the power button, volume, and bass control, you may be able to tell from the image. The right speaker connects down to the bass speaker with some kind of data cable , and the bass speaker connects to power, and also the audio input.

I've read many pages on cleaning out volume "potentiometers" to clear up crackling, and while I do hear crackling when I rotate the knob, I was unable to clear up the crackling by repeatedly turning the knob back and forth, maybe more in depth cleaning is necessary.

I've actually got some contact cleaner, but haven't opened up the speaker to try and clean out the volume knob yet, I thought I'd ask first.

Mainly; I'm curious if a dirty potentiometer is known to cause just one speaker channel to drop out completely, or could this be another problem?

Logitech Surround Sound Speakers Z906: Logitech Z906 will not turn on?

I have 2 Logitech Z906 systems that have been working properly. One now will not turn on, no lights, nothing.

I have checked the fuse and power to the end of the input plug, All seems fine. I did see somewhere about holding the power button on the remote for 8+ seconds to reset but this didn’t do anything either.

Anyone help please, I’m perfectly competant to pull it apart; although not an electrician I am an engineer and could probably/possibly fix it with guidance.

DOSS SoundBox: My Doss Soundbox will not shut off.

It seems to be a common problem that I have with my Doss Soundbox. It will not shut off. The white buttons are on constant. Blue light flashes sometimes when the power button is pressed. Sometimes will connect with Bluetooth but disconnects on its own.

I have tried pressing the power button 5 times holding the last time a few seconds. I have tried resetting it with a toothpick in the aux slot. I have inserted the aux. cord and the light turns red, but still won’t shut off or change.

Is there a fix to this?

I recently bought a 2Boom Torrent model BT488 bluetooth speaker. When you power it up, it announces in a loud voice, “POWER ON! BLUETOOTH CONNECTED!” And I mean it’s LOUD. I can’t imagine using it early in the morning in my home office, when others are still asleep.

Once it’s on, you can control the volume through your device (not through the speaker itself), but I can’t find a way to lower or mute that startup message. Any ideas?

Yamaha DXR 12: Speaker running hot due to non-running fan (fan replaced!)

I just acquired a pair of these, and both work, but the fan doesn't run on one of them. Replacing the fan didn't help. It looks like the fan is controlled by a microcontroller pin, according to the schematics. Is there some thermal sensor that governs the speed? The other unit spins from startup... Alternatively, is there somewhere convenient to grab 12V and just have the fan run constantly?
