Sony Xperia Z4: Sticking layers of copper sheet inside?

I have an Xperia Z4 and it's the hottest phone of 2015 (literally).

It's so hot that Youtube and the Camera app closing on me became an everyday thing.

I figured I should reseal the back plate so that waterproofing would work again (with a "back cover" seal sold online). However, I'm also thinking about putting a few layers (or a slightly thick plate) of copper and applying thermal paste/pad over the plate covering the Snapdragon SOC.

Of course, to keep it safe I'll be isolating a few parts of the copper to avoid shorting, but I wonder if this is a good idea? Gonna sell the phone but at least give the phone a bit of hardware fix so it won't toast the new owner's hand.

Sony Xperia Z4: Can I replace the battery with a new one from another mobile type?

Hi all,

My mobile is Sony Xperia Z4, the battery was damaged (when reaching 50% or 60%, the mobile was shutdown), so I need to replace my battery (2930 mAh) with Huawei Nova 2 (2950 mAh) and with the same voltage and dimensions (of course I’ll replace my battery adapter with a new battery). Can I do this?

Thanks in advance.

Sony Xperia Z4: Contacts on the back panel (battery cover) of the Xperia Z3+/Z4

I opened the back panel of my Z3+/Z4 to replace the battery, which was easy enough. I wanted to also replace the back panel (already bought one), but realized the new back panel/housing I have does not have those two copper(?) contacts on the upper right side of the back panel (when you’re facing it). They look like they align with a couple contacts on the inside of the device. My device turns on now and the battery is fine, but I’m currently still using the old back panel without any adhesive (a case is holding the phone together). What are those copper contacts on the back panel? Are they important, or could I just use my new back panel that doesn’t have those contacts? (Some devices from the older Z lineup don’t have those contacts, based on the teardowns I’ve watched.)

Sony Xperia Z4: Not charging after replacing battery

Hi, i just received a new battery for my Xperia Z3+ Dual (LIS1579ERPC).

I replaced it and it's not charging anymore. Conector seems to work because it makes the sound when connected and PC recognizes it but battery icon does not change to charging status and under batter menu it says "not charging".

Tried with USB and original charger. Both with the same result.

New battery is on 20% charge. I didn't do what the note inside the package says to drain it to 10% and charge it to 100% uninterrupted because of the problem explained above.

I tried putting back the old battery and it's charging OK. I don't have another phone to try the new battery.

What can i do?

Sony Xperia Z4: Display is not working after Dropping

Hi There!!

My phone has been dropped from my hand. Since then the display went completely black. When I tried to turn on, it makes the vibration as normal Sony phones does. But after couple of seconds just the notification LED blinks RED and the motherboard gets overheated. Sent to a local repair shop, but they couldn't fix it. They put a new display , however still does the same. What is the problem and how it could be fixed?

Sony Xperia Z4: Front and Back camera not working after drop

Thank you for checking my post

A few weeks ago, I dropped my phone to a ceramic floor, back side first. After checking the phone, I noticed that the front and back camera wasn't working along with the flash LED.

A check with the Diagnostic menu reports:

1. Rear camera not connected

2. Front camera is blank (No picture but detected by system)

Can this be a camera module problem? What I'm worried about is that some people said it's a hardware problem in the phone's board, however I haven't checked it yet...
