Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: Replaced screen, backlight very dull.

Just replaced the LCD assembly after smashing the original (sadface). Made sure everything is connected properly and the screen works as it should but the backlight is extremely dim (still works however).

If i try to adjust using the settings the screen reaches maximum brightness after about 20% of the slider, any slider movement above this makes no change to the bightness of the backlight.

Has anyone come across this before?

p.s. The screen was bought from a vendor on eBay claiming to sell OEM replacement parts. Compared side by side to the original screen that came out of the phone, there were next to no differences in the production quality apart from the original screen had a black paper-like cover on the back of the LCD and the replacement part had a shiny mirror like cover.

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: No backlight after screen replacement z3 xperia compact

I changed the screen because it cracked. When I first tried the screen it was fine and it worked. Then after a while the backlight didn't work. The screen works and I can barely see things on the screen, but backlight is not working.

I read there is a fuse that helps fix this issue but I don't know if this will help. Here it is: http://www.mobilerdx.com/2015/03/sony-xp...

It's the first time the phone is opened and I never thouched the fuse because it's underneath a metallic plate, which I didn't even touch or moved. So why would I have to do something with the fuse if I never did anything to it and the screen was working when I tested it?? It just stopped working afterwards for some unknown reason.

The phone is on, because there is the blinking light. So, do you have some suggestions??? Should I actually try to add a jumper on the fuse??

Thanks.

EDIT: I remember that when I was about to close the phone I put the screen upside down, and it was when the screen backlight stopped working. Is this some reason why the fuse could have been damaged???

Thanks

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: How to replace the microphone?

My Z3C has been dropped. The rear cover has cracked (looks like a relatively easy job with a bit of time and care) but also the microphone is not working properly. The person on the other end of a call can bearly hear.

Looking through the strip-down, the microphone is not mentioned, but there is an obvious component visible, which is a discrete component at the end, and looking through the other repairs it doesn't seem to be bonded to the screen like the earpiece.

However, I cannot find a microphone as a replacement component on any of the parts websites. On the full-size Z3 it is part of the main flex, but it's not on the Z3C flex.

Any ideas, folks?

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: Sony Xperia Z3 compact replacing screen including frame and housing

Hi, iam replacing the screen on a Z3 compact. The new screen has arrived and has come with the frame and housing already attached. The videos and guides i have referred to show the damaged screen being removed from the frame, are there any guides that show to to replace with the new screen and frame remaining intact. The reason i purchased the screen and frame as a complete unit was to hopefully retain the waterproof capability of the phone.

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: Screen replaced, no image/backlight.

Hi I need some help.

My screen cracked so I decided to replace it. The screen partially worked on the top half, but the bottom half was cracked. I have fixed other phones such as the LG G2 and LG G3, but never a Sony. I followed the instructions in this video.

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact LCD Screen Replacement

I test-fitted my screen before installing the adhesive and when I turned the phone on the screen doesn't light up whatsoever. So I unplugged the new screen and plugged in my old cracked one, that one didn't light up either. I can hear the phone working for example when I push the power button I get a long vibrating noise (startup vibration). I also tried the "Sony sudden death fix" holding the power button and volume up button, I get three vibrations, but nothing happens. I tried plugging it into the wal and the light turns red (top left). I tried unplugging the battery and replugging it back up to see if that did anything, didn't help. I'm at a loss as to why it's not working. Does anyone have a solution? Maybe I accidentally disconnected something?

Anyone have any advice?

edit: I hooked up my old screen and then re-installed the rear frame. Now when I click on the screen I can hear noises. What I'm clicking is the different language options on the start-up screen after a factory reset. I know this because before I attempted the repair that's the screen it was on.

I tried this with the new screen as well and the same thing happens, I can hear the click and vibration noises when touching the screen but I don't have an image on the screen.

I was reading that maybe it has something to do with jumping a resistor? Does anyone know anything about that?

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: Screen stay black after replacement

Hi everyone!
