Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: How to fix digitizer cable on LCD replacement

Hey,

I ordered a new replacement screen for my z3c. Yet, on replacing it I realised that the digitizer cable keeps getting loose from its socket (?). Thus, while the screen itself functions, it is unresponsive to touch (of course, since the cable does not stay attached to the socket. Any ideas ? I have my old screen that is responsive to touch but has a broken lcd - can I somehow use its digitizer on my new screen?!

I hope my question got clear - I am missing a lot of technical vocabulary in English.. Sorry.

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: Black Screen, No Boot, LCD is on but nobody's home.

Hi.

I've recently replaced the screen on my Z3 Compact (I've done this a few times before...) but I think this time I've definitely done something wrong.

Symptoms are as follows:

Phone is on, LCD is working (I can only tell this from the backlight being on) but nothing will boot up. I turn the phone on and I don't get a splash screen or boot up noise.

I've tried resetting it using the power button/volume switch but still get nothing

Any Ideas?

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: Replaced screen, backlight very dull.

Just replaced the LCD assembly after smashing the original (sadface). Made sure everything is connected properly and the screen works as it should but the backlight is extremely dim (still works however).

If i try to adjust using the settings the screen reaches maximum brightness after about 20% of the slider, any slider movement above this makes no change to the bightness of the backlight.

Has anyone come across this before?

p.s. The screen was bought from a vendor on eBay claiming to sell OEM replacement parts. Compared side by side to the original screen that came out of the phone, there were next to no differences in the production quality apart from the original screen had a black paper-like cover on the back of the LCD and the replacement part had a shiny mirror like cover.

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: No backlight after screen replacement z3 xperia compact

I changed the screen because it cracked. When I first tried the screen it was fine and it worked. Then after a while the backlight didn't work. The screen works and I can barely see things on the screen, but backlight is not working.

I read there is a fuse that helps fix this issue but I don't know if this will help. Here it is: http://www.mobilerdx.com/2015/03/sony-xp...

It's the first time the phone is opened and I never thouched the fuse because it's underneath a metallic plate, which I didn't even touch or moved. So why would I have to do something with the fuse if I never did anything to it and the screen was working when I tested it?? It just stopped working afterwards for some unknown reason.

The phone is on, because there is the blinking light. So, do you have some suggestions??? Should I actually try to add a jumper on the fuse??

Thanks.

EDIT: I remember that when I was about to close the phone I put the screen upside down, and it was when the screen backlight stopped working. Is this some reason why the fuse could have been damaged???

Thanks

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: Screen stay black after replacement

Hi everyone!

I have this problem with my Z3 compact, I received a new replacement screen (broke the screen after me falling down and the phone being in my back pocket hit the floor first) and after fitting it, well it doen't light up! Everything else seems to work, the LED lights up when charging, power button works as it vibrates, camera button works as well (the phone vibrates when pressing it) so I think the phone does work.

Also I tried touching the screen, it does make the clicking sound, so the touchscreen is working.

The only problem is that the lcd stays black, no backlight, no images nothing at all! Tried to unplug the battery and plug it back in, still nothing. Volume+ and power did nothing as well.

Any advice or solution on this problem? Maybe the screen is just defective?

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: Xperia Z3 Compact Power Button Problem After Battery Replacement

Greetings! I’ve been following the article to replace the battery for my Z3C. All went well, battery was replaced. But the power button seems to have a problem: phone would not react to it.

I was able to start it by connecting it via USB and fastboot. It starts OK, calls, camera, network is working fine. The only two things that don’t is power and camera buttons. I could not give a thing about latter, but I need the former :)

Any advice what could I do? Does it smell like a mobo damage or the main flex? Inspecting the cable did not yield any visual damage.

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: How to get LCD to stick to frame?

So I cracked my screen, I ordered a new one, removed the old screen, cleaned the frame of the old adhesive, then I used some red vhb adhesive tape around the frame, installed my new screen, pressed down/held it down for about 1-2min. Then started using it for about 10-20 min. After about 15min the middle part of the frame (on the sides) started lifting up substantially. How can I fix this? Did I use the wrong adhesive? I didn't go for the pre-cut adhesive because i've heard it is not sticky at all and others were having problems with the lcd lifting from the frame. So I decided to use the red vhb (very high bond) adhesive. Did i do something wrong? am I supposed to heat up the adhesive with a heatgun/hair dryer to make it stickier, and then apply the LCD?

Please help.

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: How to replace the microphone?

My Z3C has been dropped. The rear cover has cracked (looks like a relatively easy job with a bit of time and care) but also the microphone is not working properly. The person on the other end of a call can bearly hear.

Looking through the strip-down, the microphone is not mentioned, but there is an obvious component visible, which is a discrete component at the end, and looking through the other repairs it doesn't seem to be bonded to the screen like the earpiece.

However, I cannot find a microphone as a replacement component on any of the parts websites. On the full-size Z3 it is part of the main flex, but it's not on the Z3C flex.
