Sony Xperia Z1 Compact: Power button not working

Hello!

Customer came in with he's Sony Xperia Z1 Compact where the power button was not working and the volume buttons was barely working. So i told him i will order the flex cable part and get it fixed.

When i opened the phone i first checked if all that was needed was just to attach the plastic bit holding the flex cable into place a litle more. But still didn't work. So i went ahead and changed the flex cable.

After the change, the button still won't work. I checked and double checked my work and all seems normall. I also tried changing the button flex cable again.

Now the phone won't turn on and the buttons are not working.

Most important is to get the phone on without losing any files.

Anyone have any ideas, suggestions or solutions? it would be most greatfull.

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact: Screen not working after replacement

Hello I have Xperia Z1 Compact with a broken screen. I have ordered a replacement screen from ebay. When I connect the screen to the phone and turn it on, nothing happens. I know that the phone works because I hear boot up sound. Also when I press unlock button and then volume up/down keys I can hear the volume change sound. If we assume that the replacement screen is working, what could be wrong with the phone? Is there anything I could do to fix it?

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact: Replace Z1C screen with Z3C screen?

I would like to request about the feasibility of replacing the screen on a Z1 compact with a Z3 compact screen + digitizer.

Z1c dimensions are the same except for the thickness of the phone, but the inside + connecters of the screen design might be the same? Screen resolution is the same at 1280x720, so hardware wise I assume it would be compatible.

Thanks in advance, it would be a great upgrade possibility especially for cracked z1c screens!

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact: Phone doesn't charge while powerded on

Hi guys

So a bit of a tricky situation here…

So recently my phone dies pretty quickly. I have it charged to 100%, it runs for a while and at around 40% or so left, it would power off (but this is not the actual problem), or so I guess)

The problem starts here (Phone battery at 0%):

As soon as I connect it to a power source, it charges for a few seconds, then the “SONY” screen appears (is it trying to boot?) and then it goes back to dark… and it is apparently NOT charging further.

So I disconnect and reconnect to the power source, but then again, it charges for a few seconds, “SONY” screen appears, it goes back to dark and stops charging.

Repeat the game.

Another interesting thing that happened:

Sometimes I do manage to turn my phone on (at 1-3% of battery), but when my phone is turned on, it does not charge although connected to the power source.

Only after it’s turned off (by running out of battery or by turning it off manually), it charges for a while, and then as written above.

So.. what’s going on here?

A few things to mention:

1. I have tried connecting to a power outlet and to my laptop (same result, also laptop doesn’t recognize the device)

2. Power cable and outlets are fully functional

3. Phone battery I guess is fully functional, especially since I bought a new one and inserted it today

My next step would be a hard reset, but then again, it will never have charged enough power to do that

Now I essentially carry a brick in my pocket :p

Also, with already 4 years of “service”, it might be that my phone has pretty much hit its life expectancy.

Any guesses?

Thanks
