Sony Xperia Z: Headphone always on / detected

Hi there,

I have a question regarding the Sony Xperia Z.

The Xperia Z seems to always notify me that it has a headphone connected while it has nothing in there.

The little flap/cover is broken off from the frame, wich is something i have to mention, so it does notify about the phone not being waterproof.

When i use SoundAbout and rearrange the sound output i can call and hear everything just fine. When i disable the app, i have to use the headphones with mic to be able to call or the phone will not use the earspeaker or bottom mic.

What i wonder is, even after a complete factory reset aswell as disconnecting the headphone jack from the motherboard, the phone still notifies about the headphones being plugged in when the phone boots into android.

What i would like to know is, can this be a motherboard sensor failure, or does this have to do with the fact that the flap is broken off too?

What i tried:

Factory Reset.

Jack unplugged on motherboard.

Playing music while having the jack plugged and then unplug while playing.

Force stop "Smart Connect", cleaning cache and data.

I cannot seem to find what the cause is, im beginning to think that either some circuit is messed up on the motherboard itself or that the flap/cover is the cause.

I hope somebody can help me out here.

Thanks in advance.

Sony Xperia Z: After LCD replacement, No Sim/No Service

Hi, I recently replaced the lcd/digitizer display on a Sony Xperia Z for a customer of mine and everything seemed to go fine as usual until I turned the phone on after the repair was done. The phone was showing NO SIM/NO SERVICE. I checked the sim card tray and tried taking it out a few times and even checked to see if it was in the correct way and it was. I opened the up the back of the phone again to check if I'd maybe damaged the antenna wire or antenna board but all looked good and connected correctly. I'm a bit stuck on this one so if anyone has had this problem before or any other ideas they would be very appreciated. Thanks

Sony Xperia Z: Battery charge level jumps from 10-15 to 0 literally in one second!

Hi everyone! I have used my phone since 2014 (maybe, since 2013). I never ever had any problems with it. And in the case I had, I just updated the firmware. But now I face some problems. It overheating all the time. For instance, I write a text with a simple app (I write essays for money), and in a few minutes, it gets overheated. All other applications are closed (and almost nothing works in a background mod). Or, I scroll messages in Telegram (which is also a simple app), it starts to lag and overheated also. But the main problem is when I have 10-15% of the battery charge level. It jumps to 0 literally in a second (it's so unexpected) and turns off. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix it? I have limited free memory space, may it cause such kind of problems? As I know, overheating is because of processor or when you're out of RAM, not ROM.

Sony Xperia Z: My phone doesn't boot (red led)

My phone started shutting down by itself many times during the day and also it became very hot.

So I decided to recover it through the Sony companion app. I did it many times because it never became usable but it turned black and now it doesn't show anything on the display and it isn't recognized anymore by Sony companion because it doesn't boot in download mode.

It can also be that it is dead in the middle of a recover done through Sony companion.

Now, if I connect it to the charger (or to the pc), it shows the red led for a while and it turns off. It seems that the phone “turns on internally” and then it turns off the red led.

If someone knows what is the problem and can help me, thanks.

Sony Xperia Z: How to fix the power button spring

Hi I recently had the screen of Sony Xperia Z replaced. Everything is working great expect the power button seems to have lost its spring. You have to place some pressure on the button for it to work since it is now sunk into the housing. What could I do to repair this since it it most likely something missing behind the metal bracket which holds the button housing in place inside the phone.

Thanks

Sony Xperia Z: My screen doesn't display anything after replacement.

So, my touch screen wasn't working (Only the touch part) so I ordered one from amazon since my brother wanted to try replacing it.

The issue now is that when the phone boots up, the screen just produces a little feint light and nothing else. The touch screen works now, I can hear it.

The weird thing is that if we boot it up with the old screen instead, unplug it and switch to the new one after it has opened it works fine. If the phone is shut down again the problem recurs.

We are fairly certain that this isn't a hardware issue, but if it is please tell me.
