Hello, please help. Backlight on my Xperia XZ2 stopped working. I think it could be blown fuse. But I can't find it on motherboard. Does someone have the picture of it or can help me to locate it so I could test it if it is blown. Thanks

I forgot to switch off my phone before I changed the screen. Now my phone switches on but the screen stays black. Even with the old one...

How can I fix it? Did I blow a connection or something?

As the title says No service, Emergency calls only.

The IMEI is recognised, and I've tried changing the preferred network type. No luck.

The signal strength is always at minus.

I opened it up thinking there was a physical problem and discovered that the antenna connection on the PCB in the bottom right corner of the phone had come off so I got a new board and replaced it, along with the antenna for good measure, but still nothing.

I'm at a loss now and really don't want to give up on it as I've just replaced the screen.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sony Xperia XZ2: Blown Component near SIM Card Tray

Dear IFIXIT Community,

i need some help in identifying a blown component on the Mainboard of a Xperia XZ2. The component is located near the SIM crad tray, my assumption is that it is a voltage regulator. The rest of the Mainboard looks ok, altough the EMI-shields were not removed.

I was not able to find any schematics for the H8216 model to find out the function of the component, if it is just for the micro-SD card, i put the phone back together.

There are two inductors and a capacitor missing on the charging flex which will be replaced by a new assembly, i will start an attempt to solder the inductors back, altough the copper winding looks a little bit damaged. It is possible that they were torn away in a previous repiar attempt.

Hello, I recently got my hands on an Xperian XZ2 for a really good price. Only thing is that the fingerprint missing entirely.

So it would be nice to add one back, however I don't want to open the phone from the front, had a bad time trying this on other phones. So my question is : Can I add back a fingerprint without ever touching the Display? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, im changed charging flat usb-c cable without problem and before im put new screen adhesive back im turn my device on and check everything and was all functions good and working well, but after, im forget turn device off and im disconect my lcd when was device on, then im put new adhesive, put display back and close phone and now phone is still on, i can hear when is some message comming, charging diode working, vibration too but display is black… So my phone cant see this display or dont know, So please help , thanks .

Hi,

my brand new xz2c doesnt book into any of the available local mobile networks. It only detects the network as 2G but I know I have full 4G coverage here (!&&* the cell tower is right across the street!). Problem is I only found this out after I had already unlocked the bootloader so now the support company refused a repair/exchange. But they DID officially confirm the issue at least, happening on latest stock image/firmware (and LineageOS too). Anything I can do here or is that thing now a wifi-only “phone”?

Good day.

I dropped my XZ2 compact yesterday. Flat on the screen. ( screen is okay though ).

After this, the device keeps restarting every… 3 minutes?

Time and date is stuck at 3pm, 15th on march 2020.

Can’t read SIM, can’t connect to wifi.

Device drains battery quickly and gets hot, so I think a short somewhere

Did a tranfer from internal memory to SDcard and ordered a new phone but…

I was wondering if I could fix it.

I’ve opened the phone and found a little crack in the PCB. yet, it doesn’t look like there’s any copper trace there. Can’t insert picture yet till I received a new phone.

I am a tad handy and I have replace batteries and broken screen before, but never have soldered on such a small scale ( just DIY PCB’s ). I own a IFIXIT kit.

Also, is it a problem that the XZ2 compact is not in the IFIXIT system, but the XZ2 is?

No parts for it to be found as well.
