Sony Vaio PCG-61611L: My laptop screen is black and the fan won't turn on

When this happened, it suddenly turned off. I restarted it and it was on for a few minutes until it turned off again, and after that, when I turn it on, the screen is black.

When I turn on the laptop, the laptop makes a sound that it's starting to run and then it is silent. The fan isn't on, and the only light that is on is the power.

Sony VAIO PCG-61611L: Laptop dies if magnet not on lid sensor.

If i open the laptop, it begins to start up, however 10 seconds the laptop losses power and the power indicator led fades out. If I open the lid and place a magnet near the sensor the laptop runs. Strange note here… you cannot access the bios with the magnet on the lid switch. Does this sound like there is an issue with the lid switch itsself or if there is the issue with something else?
