Sony Handycam CCD-TR5: Camera won't turn on after being in perfect working order?

The camera was in perfect working order. Playback worked and I could see through the viewfinder. But as soon as I put in a new tape, the camera recorded for 4 seconds and the caution light blinked and the footage glitched and shut off. Now the camera won't respond when plugged in to the DC cable or with a battery. The battery has been tested and it's good and my camera is in Standby mode. It shows blinking zeros on the screen by the power buttons but will not start playback or record. I also cannot see through the viewfinder. It also will not eject the new 8mm tape.

I have a Sony handy cam ccd-f77 and the screen you see through the scope is blank I think but it looks like it’s trying to focus I attached pics from what I’m talking about.

Is there an easy fix for the yellow and black ports/output jacks for the A/V cables? The problem with the ports has slowly worsened to the point where now I cannot get a picture at all on an outside monitor. (The cables themselves are NOT the problem.)

Sony Handycam CCD-TR5: Problem with cables to capture device

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong forum.

I have a capture device to transfer tapes to digital, but I'm having a problem with the cables. The camcorder has a black and yellow cable, which the capture device also has. The problem is that the black cable for capture device isn't the same as the black for the camera, seen in the photos. Is there any cable I could buy to link these together?

Before removing old battery, I failed to make note of orientation.

Does battery positive (+) side face camera cassette? Or else camera handle? (Please see photos.)

Sony Handycam CCD-TR5: TAPE BEING REJECTED; Amended & updated Question

I have edited this to perhaps make it a little more obvious as to what is happening, in an attempt to get some more help. The camera switches on and appears to function correctly prior to a tape being inserted.

The cassette compartment opens correctly on pressing the eject button, if the cassette compartment is closed without a tape being inserted all the pre-tensioning actions work correctly and appear to return to their correct positions when opening the cassette compartment, but when a tape is inserted non of these tape pre-tensioning operations function. There is a very faint noise of possible a motor trying to do something for about 5 seconds then the cassette compartment opens automatically. with the cassette compartment cover removed I canot see anything trying to move or operate when the tape is correctly inserted.

Besides the camera possibly being faulty I wonder if the tape cassette is the wrong one. the tapes I am trying are Kodak Video Cassette P5-90MP8 and SONY MP 8mm Video Cassette PAL 8

Goes into pause mode without the button being engaged. You can engage the pause button and it will work correctly then go into pause again.
