Sony DSC-RX100MA: Sony DSC-RX100 IV fell : won't turn on anymore

Hello guys!

I'm a bit desperate as I broke it seems, my recently acquired -less than 2 months :((((( -Sony RX100 IV.

It fell from shoulder height on the floor tiles, right on the upper right corner of the lens barrel: aperture ring is a bit deformed and won't rotate more than 45°

It was turned off when it fell, but now wouldn't turn on anymore... no power sign, not detected by the computer as well, nothing. As alive as a brick.

Any idea what needs to be replaced (aside from the lens ring) in order to bring it back to life?

Thanks in advance :)

K.A.

Sony DSC-RX100MA: Is the internal memory on the motherboard?

Got my rx100 fixed by an offical sony guy unoffically(without paperwork, for cheaper price). Claimed motherboard was changed but serial was same as before and all my settings are the same. So is the internal memory on the motherboard? if it is then I think i just got cheated…

Update (08/31/2018)

Btw I think serial number can be changed later by software, so maybe i didn’t get cheated if internal memory isn’t on the motherboard.

Sony DSC-RX100MA: Display will not invert in selfie mode

I have a Sony RX100M5. When I flip the display up in selfie mode, the image will not change to selfie mode. It stays inverted. When If I place a small magnet at a particular place on the housing, the image inverts as long as the magnet is there. Then it always stays inverted even when display is is brought to normal position.

Sony DSC-RX100MA: camera mode jumping arround when lightly touching the mode dial

The camera mode is jumping arround between MR and Movie Record mode with just light touch of the mode dial any way to fix this on my rx100 m4, it's old, but still takes great pictures just that whenever I use my memory recall mode, for some reason it jumps between movie record and mr, or if i select movie record jumps between MR and HFR. I saw that possibly needs to clean the contacts under the dial but no guide for it.

Sony DSC-RX100MA: Dropped camera - zoomring now turns very heavily

I dropped my RX100MkIV from about 10" height during holidays. Though nothing visible bended, the functional ring around the lens now turns very hardly. Seems to be bent on the round counterpart inside. I am familiar with taking apart this camera, but have no clue how to disassemble the zoomring form the metal front housing. Anybody got an idea how to do this? Thanks a lot!

Sony DSC-RX100MA: shutter button stays 'half pressed'

The shutter button of my rx100 iii has some kind of loose contact (or better: the opposite of this). Sometimes when I press it and let it go again the frame on the display that shows if the pic would be sharp remains green. And as the camera ‘thinks’ I’m still pressing the button half way, all other buttons and functions are blocked. I can usually unblock it by tapping several times on the button. Can I fix this somehow?

My problem is a foreign body, probably an eyelash by the look of it inside the RX100iii viewfinder (which is the same as the one in the RX100IV). It seems to be just inside the rear glass which magnifies it. However I can see no obvious means of removing the rear of the viewfinder or its casing.
