Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX20V: Why is my camera making a strange noise?

Hi, when I power on my camera and the lens comes out it imediately starts to make a strange humming vibrating noise. The camera still works fine, but the noise is killing me.

Looks like the auto focus or the stabilizer is constantly adjusting. Is there a solution for this or should I start looking for a new one?

Thanks

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX80 Repair: Electronic Viewfinder stuck down

My EVF won't pop up. I move the little latch button and the EVF still feels latched and does not release from the body. I have found NOTHING online about this problem! The big repair shops want $200 just to put a Cybershot on their bench, which doesn't seem appropriate for a hopefully simple mechanical problem on a used camera now worth about $300.

I love my DSC-HX80 and don't want to replace it. Except for the EVF pop-up problem it works perfectly. If I don't hear from anyone on this thread who has solved the problem, I guess I'll open it up and see what's going on with the latch. The iFixIt site has a step by step explanation of opening up the camera to REPLACE the EVF, which should help.
