Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100: Sony DSC RX100 M2 LCD screen not working

Hello,

I recently purchased a RX100 M2 from eBay. The seller stated the LCD screen needed to be replaced, the camera had been stepped on and shortly after the LCD stopped working. I have replaced the LCD with a new part and the screen does not light up. I also replaced the ribbon cable on the folding screen mount and the LC1110 Video Control Board, thinking they may be bad. After installing a second new LCD screen it still doesn't light up.

Has anyone had a similar problem or knows of a solution?

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100: RX100 Mark 4 Acting Erratically (Will not take photos or video)

Had something weird happen to my RX100 M4 last weekend after a small drop (In a case / 2 feet).

When I try to take a picture, the screen goes black and the camera freezes.

Can’t enter video mode. Screen is just black and lens behaves erratically.

Saw some people on DPReview with the exact same symptoms. One guy said he fixed it by applying pressure to the back of the camera as it was a contact issue.

Anyone ever experience this? I’ve taken the camera apart and it appears everything is plugged in. Perhaps I have to replace a component?

It’s out of warranty, so servicing isn’t much of an option.

Here’s a quick video of the problem it’s experiencing:

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100: RX100: LCD/Display not working

After two years of usage, my RX100 MKI does not work any more. Or to be exactly: It still works, i can make pictures, its focusing and saving them on the SD card but the display does not show anything. Not at the moment i push the power button, there is just no sign of life at the screen. I bought a used RX100 to replace the screen but same goes for the other screen. I than connected it to the other RX100 and it is working. So it is not the screen. Do you think it can relate to the power on/off error that is wildely discussed here. Or is that a hint that the main board might be the problem?

Best regards,

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100: Dropped camera - not powering on

I dropped the camera without protection on stone floor. A small crack has formed in the plastic on the left side of the camera seen from the screen, and some parts look a little bit skewed but not much. The power isn’t turning on and when I try to charge it, no light is glowing. All mechanical components are operational and the battery looks intact. Any idea what the problem might be and if it is fixable?
