player was damaged due to electrical problem.

Common solution given by Sony and others does does solve power on problem.

It’s dead.

Is it possible to open the drawer without destroying the disc that was inside when the player died?

Yes, I know it might say Sony BDP-S3700 but the one that I have is Sony BDP-S1700 and it reads the DVD discs fine and without any problems but it just makes awful somewhat silent clicking noise while playing. I don't have any Blu-Rays and I use the player to watch burned DVD's. The DVDs are fine no scratches nor dusts and they're brand new. Also the player is pretty new. I bought it on September 30, 2022. But is it normal for this specific player or any other Sony Blu-ray player to make awful but silent clicking/buzzing noise.

Something happened to the player and now if I plug it in and connect it it will not go past the screen where it says “Blu Ray” and in turn go to the start screen so I want to know where I can send it to be repaired and or restarted/rebooted so it will work again

Sony BDP-S3700: Issues with external speakers

I’m stumped. I have a TCL 5-Series QLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV (Model: 55S54), with a Sony BDP-S3700 blu-ray player in one HDMI port and a set of external Panasonic speakers (Panasonic SC-HTB20) hooked up in another HDMI port. They work completely fine with the TV itself, though I have noticed they automatically stop producing sound when I’ve left the TV sitting without actively watching anything. When I try to use them with my blu-ray player, the speakers will work for about two minutes, and then they just quit working. They still appear to be on, and the disc will continue playing, but I’m not getting any sound. Any ideas?

Sony BDP-S3700: Why does the open/close button not work

I have disconnected both the audio and HDMI cable from my device.

After turning on the device, pressing the open/close button has not effect. The green power led is on.

I have tried resetting by holding on the open/close button, and the plugging in the power cord. This did not fix the problem.

Any suggestions or advice would be gratefully received.

Sony BDP-S3700: DVDs sticking and jumping

We have a Sony 4KUHD Upscale Blu-ray disk/DVD player with wireless LAN built in, Model BDP-6500. DVDs have started jumping and/or freezing. We can't fast forward past or return to the start. Do we have to replace it, or is some kind of repair possible?

The Blu-ray player was working absolutely fine until I put in a disc, it showed me the disc language selection, I pressed the language I wanted and then it just blackout and said on the display view, 0:00:00/0:00:00, so I tried to turn it off, wasn't helpful and then the disc was stuck but then it kept restarting the player (as it was showing the start-up screen (Sony logo and the blu-ray logo) and then black screen and about 10 seconds later, no signal) and that is on repeat, so I took it to a hard reset, which leads me to eject the disc but the player keeps restarting.

Are there any ideas that I could try and get this fixed?

I tried checking the HMDI cable, connected perfectly fine and always works fine with the HMDI cable

When I play a BD-rom there is sound. When I play a dvd there is no sound. I have done a factory reset. It didn’t help.

Will not respond to remote. New batteries in remote. Unplugged an waited, all day. Eject button will not work. the only thing working is the blue light to show it is plugged in.
