Sony Alpha a7s II: Why won't my camera recognize my lens

I recently received a Sony Emount 50mm 1.8 and when I connected the lens to my Sony A7ii camera it is not recognized and I can't control the focus or aperture of the lens. I double checked to make sure the camera still worked with canon lenses and an adapter and they don't have any problems. This is my first Sony lens for the camera and would expect it to have less problems than the canon lenses with the adaptor. Any ideas?

Sony Alpha a7s II: Backlight doesn't work after repair

Display was broken and I’ve removed it. After I took new one and attached it, but the main ribbon (from display board to pcb board) was damaged. I’ve bought new and replace, but now backlight doesn’t work. Service man told, that problem may be in short circuit (when damaged ribbon touched metal tilting mechanism) and backlight is controlled by the BGA 8072PN (upper left corner of photo). But on the forum I’ve read that backlight is controlled by another chip. So I need to repair backlight but don’t know how.

The shutter mechanism stays closed while taking a picture. I have to reset the shutter by removing the lens and wiggling the metal part of the shutter with fingers , and then it opens up.
Sony Alpha a7s II: What is this ribbon cable for on the IR tray (of S3CA)

I am modifying a Sony S3CA which is a special version of the a7sii with no screen or record limit and a few other tricks. I noticed this ribbon cable coming from what appears to be the IR filter tray, any idea what that would be for? It has two contacts on the cable.

It’s the tiny cable in the bottom left of the frontal image:
