Hello community,

I have a challenge, the screw head of the frame has unfortunately stripped. I have tried the rubber band and glue trick with no luck. I ideally would like to be able to remove this screw without breaking the frame. I do have a spare frame in the worse case

So I want to know, how to open the camera, unstuck the shutter curtain and perform maintenance so it can last another tens of thousands of pictures.

I have a few batteries for this camera and one of my spares has swollen a bit. Not a big deal as I have more to fall back on but this one is no longer viable.

Considering it is swollen and cracked I do not want to run this pack if I can help it. Is there another way to quickly discharge it so I can dispose of it?

Sony Alpha ILCE-6000: Power switch symptoms - no response or lights at all

The camera has no response what so ever. The power switch works smoothly, but the camera is totally dead. There is no charging led when usb plugged in for charging with a half charged battery. With a fully charged battery there is no response to the power switch what so ever.

If it is the power switch is broken should the camera still charge with through the usb charger? I am willing to move forward with replacing the power switch but I would like to confirm a bad power switch will also prevent usb charging. I am skeptical of this. I believe the power switch should not effect usb charging.

I think my problem is more serious then the power switch. I am not sure where to look next.
