Sony Alpha 5100: *Sony a5000* Any tips on modifying the lens mount to be 100% metal?

I am about to modify my Sony a5000 with a metal mount to ditch the plastic hybrid mount, mainly due to heavy lenses and that mount scaring me enough I do not like to trust it with heavy lenses out of concern it will break for no reason, mainly 90's Tamron and A-Mount monsters, as well as the "beercan" being an all metal monster that weighs more than some bodies. I have the part on order (SpeedPak from China, will take a while) but in the meantime while I wait for parts, has anyone who has done this modification to these cameras noticed anything I need to be aware of or is it a quick swap from plastic to metal?

Sony Alpha 5100: Lens not recognised and temperamental powering on

I have recently picked my a5100 up after a year or two in the closet.

Following a full charge I turned it on and the lens pushed all the way out and stayed there. It didn't auto focus and after a while it said lens wasn't recognized. It is the standard Sony lens.

On turning it off, the lens stayed all the way out. I tried turning it on again and it took a long time to boot and it apepared hte lens was stuck out.

After leaving if for a couple of days I turned it on again and it went through the cycle of retracting the lens and then extending it all the way out where it gets stuck again. I.e. zoom function wont pull it back in, and it remains out of focus.

I tried initializing the settings and rebooting but it remains in the fully extended position.

It seems that after leaving it for a long time it's happy to turn on an retract/extend the lens but it always ends up stuck in the fully extended position. It also becomes temperamental in switching on after its first boot.

Firmware is most up to date 3.10

Battery has approx 60% charge

SD card removed

I have tried cleaning the contacts on the lens

Any ideas on the issue or how to fix it?

Sony Alpha 5100: Dummy Battery Fried Camera during Power Surge

So, i had my dummy battery plugged into this camera which was using a power supply and it suddenly flickered and turned off and wouldnt turn back on. I believe it drew too much power from the dummy battery I was using. It no longer will turn back on even with a new battery. Does anyone know if this is issue is repairable?

Sony Alpha 5100: Flip screen display won't rotate 180 degrees

I recently bought an a5100 from MPB.com listed as "well used" in terms of condition. Within the first day of use, the camera seems to function perfectly (save for some dust in the sensor that I can easily clean) except for a detail that is quite important to me. I bought the a5100 because of the flip-up screen as I intend to use the camera for vlogging; however, when I flip the screen up to face the front, the display does not rotate and the preview is upside down. I really would like to avoid the hassle of returning the camera (as it does have a 6 month warranty courtesy of the seller) and want to know if there's a simple fix I could try to get the screen to rotate. I have already tried factory resetting the camera and it did not fix the issue.
