okay this is a longshot. but in the Interest of making things better. i figured i might as well ask. what am i out?

i have a 10 yr old 'smart' thermostat. with a life expectancy of 10 yrs... well almost to the day... it just stopped reading temperature accurately or at all? it was displaying 69° - 72° even when i took ot outside in 10° weather...

i have minimal skill, i have done some soldering in the past. reattached USB micro ports and other fiddly things. but this might be beyond my ability...

i was hoping to offer my dead thermostat for the cause... if someone else is willing to reverse engineer it.

otherwise I have pictures of the back of the motherboard and am willing to take it apart more. to at least identify the temperature sensor or w/e failed. because it seems like it was made to fail.. and we can't have that.

any suggestions or do you need more info from me?

I think I might have it, I was on the YouTube just now and watching an off the wall vid recommended by my feed... and something crazy happened at the 11 minute mark...

there it is is! that's what they look like! and and they are apparently only like $3.00 USD.

and I've found an eerily similar item on the mobo for the thermostat. (circled in red -- in picture below)
[ also note the arrow pointing out venting in the case, as I believe that is there to help facilitate an accurate reading of temp/humidity.]

I do happen to have another image that I took of the PCB, its not great either, but a little better. (I used flash)
with it we can decipher that what I assume to be the temp sensor says: "ANDU"

not sure if that's helpful..

Tado Smart Radiator Thermostat v3 Plus: Where can I get a new black plastic actuator?

I have a Tado radiator thermostat that has somehow lost the black plastic piece that actually pushes the pin that opens the valve. The device is completely useless without this. Where can I get a new one? I could potentially 3D print one if I could borrow one of these to make a 3D model, or if someone has already done this.

Echo Dot 4. Generation: Only Mute on off light works

Alexa is dead except for the mute light that comes on and off when pressed. No ring light. Tried another working power adapter also that is from a identical working alexa. Unable to reset pressing action button. Amazon repair center wanted to replace it with a refurb one at a price higher than a new one. Found one comment on Google that claims it was a firmware update that failed midway. Alexa has not been opened. Not sure if Amazon repair center opened it.

nooie: Nooie Pro Cam Teardown Help

Good Afternoon all!

I have a 2 pack of the Nooie pro cams. One of them got moisture in it. It still works but the lens has residue on it.

All I need is to open it up and clean the lens. There isn't a hint of anyone opening these anywhere! The kit (mounts x2 cams x2 base station x1) was $250 so I would imagine this happens sometimes.

If anyone has any TEARDOWN help please assist me. If IfixIt would like to do a teardown I will ship them the entire kit! with the understanding that it may end up permanently non-functional. I don't care I just need to know how to open these.

I have a smart video doorbell that is not connecting to the Wi-Fi app or HomeKit. It is not accepting a regular or USB reset according to the manual. When connected to power, it blinks orange to indicate insufficient power, though there is sufficient power. Netatomo claims the device is defective to be replaced.

I haven’t used my Google Home Mini in about 2-3 years. It was in my desk drawer and I hadn’t plugged it in until recently. It just won’t turn on at all. Double checked to make sure it wasn’t my cord or outlet. I left it charging for a few hours to see if it’ll turn on eventually but nothing. Help lol…

Amazon Echo Show 15: What powers the screen itself?

Mainboard is kaput but mu screen still functions just fine. I'm looking at removing any unneeded components. Hoping I can manage a flat cable from the screen to HDMI-F and connect a fire stick or some such.

Seems like the PDB links to the motherboard and in turn somehow to the screen. Can anyone confirm what cabling and connections are necessary to power the screen itself?
