Sharp Television: My TV has stopped responding to both my remote and onboard buttons.

My Sharp TV (LC55P6000U, G172055) suddenly stopped responding to remote commands with the exception of the power button. Now the onboard controls as well (except power). I did a hard reset on both the TV and the remote. It powers up, but if any button is pressed (whether remote or onboard) a spinning icon (waiting/busy/buffering) appears for a few minutes and then just disappears.

If I have my Xbox turned on, the TV will display it when powered up. But I can’t change volume or access menu etc… The remote has good batteries and the IR is working (checked through phone camera). I’m stumped! Is this a failing board? A known quirk?? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have owned this LCD TV since 2012. The only repair was the replacement of the PSU a few years ago. Apart from that, no issues. Recently, all was working fine until I switched on to see it appear as so. The day before it was working fine. There is sound. Could this be a T-Con board issue? If not, what could it be? Thank you.

Sharp Television: Sharp LC60C7500U not powering on/led indicator not showing in standby

Hello,

I have a Sharp LC60C7500U 60" TV which does not appear to be powering on. When pressing the power button the LCD does not light up and the indicator light on the bottom of the TV does not light up even in standby.

First I checked the voltage at the fuse right after the AC connector. From neutral on the AC input connector to the fuse we see around 122 V.

Checking the connector hooked to the power drive which splits out to the other boards I found the following voltages with the 1st reading starting at the PD label

48.9, 48.9, 48.9, 48.8, 48.9, 48.9, 48.9, 49.0, 49.0, 49.0, 49.0, 49.0

Looking specifically at the LED indicator board it appears the board gets power, ground, and possibly other signals from the main board. Checking the input connector which is fed from the power drive board to the main board I found the following volatages reading from right to left on the connector.

8.9, 6.8, 48.7, 48.7, 48.8, 48.9, 48.9, 48.9, 48.9, 48.9, 48.8, 48.8

And for completeness I also measured the input connector on the LCD controllor board fed from the power drive. Reading pins from right to left I found the following

48.8, 48.8, 48.9, 48.9

Based on this I am under the impression this is not a power issue/issue with the power drive as it appears to be pushing voltage to each of the boards (Main/LCD).

Since the indicator LED is not showing even on standby and the entire TV does not appear to "turn on" when pressing the power button this leads me to believe this may either be two issues (LED indicator and LCD) or an issue isolated to the main board. But I'm unsure if these voltages are expected, if I performed the measurements correctly, etc.

A few questions based on this

Is it correct to take measurements on the connector pins using the neutral of the input AC as "commond ground"?

Has anyone had experience with Sharp TV's and possibly this particular model or close to this model to offer some feedback?

For reference here is the document I used which includes some block diagrams and wiring schematics.

Sharp Television: LE650U TV backlight seems to have died but still opens service menu

So, I got this LE650U TV. And whenever I power it normally it loads the SHARP screen briefly at full brightness. Dies out and then shows the SHARP screen again. Dies out and shows nothing then goes to a blinking light, one fast one slow. Saw that you could go into service mode with holding the “INPUT” and “VOL DOWN” button, then switching to the “CH DOWN” and the “VOL DOWN” button. It enters into that mode fine, just impossible to read, tried doing

“lamp error reset” toggled on

“Reset” toggled on

“Industry unit” toggled on

I get a green screen but when I unplug and turn on it goes back to same error code. Anybody have any ideas before it gets a backlight replaced? I can get specific lamp error codes or anything else needed off that service menu if wanted. Thank you in advance.

40BN5E: Black stripe on my Sharp Aquos Tv screen

Yesterday I had to remove the back lid of the screen to Unplug the Power cable from the inside. After putting all the pieces back together (screws and lid)I noticed that a black vertical stripe roughly 3cm large has appeared on the right-hand side section of the screen. Today I opened the posterior lid one more time to check whether the connections were fine and they appear to be properly plugged in without any damage. Does anyone have any idea of what the cause could be and if there is a solution to the problem???

Sharp Roku TV LC-55LB481U. The TV was working fine. My wife turned the TV last Thursday and it turned on with these vertical lines. There was no problem with the TV before.

I opened the TV, I checked all the board, I saw no burns on cables or anything bad. I reseated all cables to no avail.

I replaced TCon, but TV still does the same thing. Can it be a bad main board or something else like the power supply or the actual panel?

When the scene is dark, the lines kind of disappears but as soon there is white info on screen lines came back again.

Sharp Television: Horizontal Line on Screen

I have a 90" Sharp Aquos LC-90LE657U. The picture has horizontal lines that get worse as the image move. During a static image, the horizontal lines travel downward from top to bottom. I took it to a repair shop and they told me it has a "bad panel screen", and want $2,000 to repair it. Google searches tell me there are bands along the perimeter that come un-glued and cause lines but I don't think that is what's wrong. This TV has tabs, but they don't touch anything. (See picture) Any advise on how to get the back working or is it junk?

Sharp Television: How would I go about repairing my tv?

Hi, I have a Sharp tv, model #: LC-50LB481C. I've done several kinds of tests. Hard resets, leave unplugged for a few minutes, plug things with their own video source (like a video game console) into different HDMI ports etc,. The screen is completely dark but I can see the screen if I shine lights on it, this tells me I have a backlight problem. How would I go about fixing it? Does Ifixit sell parts for that and if not do you know where I can get parts either in Canada or shipped to Canada?

Sharp Television: Sharp 50" Roku TV powers up but quickly goes dark (Model LC-50LBU591U)

My tv recently started going dark shortly after turning on. This happened a while ago, but was fixed with a reset and a lot of time being left off. I have tried resetting it again and can't get it to stay on past the loading screen. I have tested the power board and believe everything is fine but I'm not exactly sure what every voltage should be. The backlight remains lit when the screen is dark and I'm not able to see any images when I shine a flashlight on the screen. Does this mean I should replace the main board? I have no problem replacing the power control board or main board, I would just appreciate some help figuring which one instead of buying and replacing both. Thanks in advance!

Edit- aging some pictures for clarity

Edit- to add other board. The only difference between it being disconnected or connected seems to be whether or not it shows the sharp logo before flickering and going dark. When it's disconnected, it just goes straight to the blank screen, when it's connected, it tries to work but flickers out

Sharp Television: Sharp 40BJ3K no picture or sound

My sharp LCD colour TV, Model 40BJ3K, serial no, C40UK7552KB65N 40181800700549, has no picture or sound. Whenever I click on standby, the light changes from red to white, I tried it in a different socket (my old tv is working fine in that one) tried in a darkened room, using a flashlight, varying angles but unfortunately I cant see anything but a black screen, it was working perfectly the night before & I live alone so I know no one has been anywhere near it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sharp Television: 60" Sharp Aquos Problem - Won't turn on!

My son brought me his Sharp Aquos (Model LC-60LE644U) TV that wouldn't turn on (he said, previously, it would work for a couple of days and, then, wouldn't turn on again, for several days. Now, it doesn't turn on, at all). The red LED is lit. From his symptoms and checking other posts, I thought it was a bad Power Board, so I ordered a replacement. It didn't work... and it's doing exactly what it did with the previous Power Board: Doesn't turn on, at all... BUT, when I UNplug the cord, the panel's backlight flashes for a second. Those symptoms don't point to the T-Con or FRC boards, but lead me to believe it's the Main Board or the panel, itself. I could use a second opinion
