Shark IONFlex 2X: Wire on the handheld vacuum broke off

There is a thin wire on the handheld part of the vacuum that you insert into the wand. It rests in a small groove on the part that goes into the wand. What does this do? The vacuum seems to be running okay without it.

Shark IONFlex 2X: Boost & Carpet lights flashing.

Recently cleaned the filters on our IF200 model.

Now when you power up, the battery lights come on, you hear the motor start (for about 1 sec) and then the Boost and Carpet lights flash together, not alternating.

Nothing in the manual describes this light combination but checked for blockages and recharged the battery, just to be sure. Nothing.

Shark IONFlex 2X: Motor overheats and loses suction

It starts working perfectly but after around 3 or 4 minutes the suction becomes weak and it shuts off with a motor overheat indicator. The motor part feels hot, the battery is fine though and doesn’t feel warm at all.

I’ve checked the suction path for debris and there’s nothing in there, I can see right the way through all of the pipes, the filters are freshly washed and dried as well.

Shark IONFlex 2X: "Carpet" power roller not spinning

While vacuuming, going from the "hardwood to carpet" function, I realized the soft roller was not spinning. After cleaning everything off/out, I ejected the roller to which the plastic "gear piece" the sits over the metal post to fit into the soft roller and holds it in place had broken into pieces. I'm knowledged that it is in fact time for a new soft roller, that I can purchase, BUT...can I replace only this small piece that fits into the roller to secure it? OR, do I now need an entire new piwerhead?

Shark IONFlex 2X: Carpet + Boost lights flash simultaneously

This unit appears to be the North American counterpart to the UK model "IF200UK 31" Shark DuoClean Cordless for anyone trying to work it out.

Disassembling the hand held unit to get to the motor and two PCBs is definitely difficult but doable.

I'm wondering if the carpet and high suction (ION boost in US) lights blinking indicates a specific fault?

I press the power button and the unit attempts to power up as it spins the motor, but it is as though there isn't enough power or a fault condition is encountered straight away and the power is withdrawn in less than 1 second followed by the blinking lights.

The lights blink away until it turns off to standby. I can press the power button and repeat this indefinitely (at least until the battery drains if I were to waste a day trying).

It is as described in this question - Boost & Carpet lights flashing..

Anyone experienced this?
