Seagate Backup Plus Hub: External Hard drive not showing up?

So I recently dropped my external hard drive on accident. I know I know… theres my first problem right.

Well I thought there might still be a chance that it works. So I plugged it in to my computer and the light on it came on as well as the sound that the computer makes when I normally plug it in.

The issue is though that it doesn’t show up on my computer anywhere. The weird thing is that I can still eject it like I normally would with the eject button… Is there anything I can do to fix it or to get my files? I have them backed up for the most part, there are only a few that I don’t have.

Also I’ve looked up other questions like this and a lot of them say there is some mysterious ticking noise coming from the harddrive but mine doesn’t have any noises coming from it.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Seagate External Storage: Connection problems with my Seagate?

Hello, I currently own the seagate 1Tb backup slim plus. Recently, I was was working on revit and I moved my laptop just a little bit and because of that my disk was ejected. I got the usual prompt saying my disk was not ejected properly and said ok. However as I plugged it back in, the drive is not being recognized by my laptop (Mac). The disk is also making frequent high pitched sounds that occur I would say every 7 seconds. I think the problem is a connection problem bridging from the drive to the computer. It is also not being recognized by other devices. Any help or thoughts is appreciated thank you!

Seagate External Storage: Light on, drive spinning, but unable to access files?

I have a Seagate Backup Plus 4TB USB 3.0 that has some important files I need to access on it. When I plug it in, the light turns on as normal, I can hear it spinning, but neither my Windows 10 PC or my Mac OSX 10.10.5 recognize it, and it doesn't show up in disk management either. The USB ports work fine and so does the the cable. Is there something I'm missing? Is my drive dead? Is there any way for me to access my files?

Seagate Expansion: Windows PCs won't detect Seagate External HDD

I have an external hard drive by Seagate, model is STEB6000403, and it won't be detected by my Windows computer. Each time I plug it in I can hear the disks spinning and the computer makes the normal "dudunk" sound whenever you plug something new into a USB port, but nothing shows up. The HDD does give two spaced beeps, probably both about a second apart before the disk stops spinning. I've tried to find somewhere official or non-official that describes these beeps as some sort of audible error code, but I have found nothing so far. I've tried a few of the solutions suggested online, those being:

Trying different ports on the computer

Using a different USB Micro B cable

Trying on a different computer

I moved on to the more "advanced" solutions where I took about the HDD. One common problem that seems to come up is that peoples drive heads get stuck so I thought I'd investigate this a possibility. Upon opening up the HDD the drive heads were not resting on the disk and in the expected position. I decided to plug the HDD into the computer with the disk exposed. The drive heads move across the disk to the center twice, each time the got to the center is when the beep occurred, then they moved back to their resting position. Does anyone have even an inkling as to how to fix this?

Seagate External Storage: Seagate Business NAS acting abnormally

I have just acquired a Seagate Business NAS 2 bay. It didn't have the original power supply, so I bought one from Amazon. It seems to work normally, but I'm unable to turn the unit off via regular methods. I connected it to my network and downloaded the requisite software. The software found it, and I can access the maintenance page via IP address in my browser. It even found the hard drives I put in there.

The problem is I'm unable to factory reset it so I can make use of all functionality. I followed the instructions in the manual and it refuses to reset. Is there anything else I can do to make this work?

Seagate External Storage: External drive not detected, Static Charge Damage

Yesterday static charge from my body stopped my seagate external drive from working. I hear unusual clicking noise but not detected anymore. Anyone know if the data may have lost? Cheers.

Update (07/19/2020)

Thanks guys, I am not going to touch this although I have exactly identical hard drive with same model and PN and going to use that as a donor. But will get it done by a data recovery company. Yes expensive, over £500. I had all my 15 years family photos duplicated on 3 drives and last week I sorted them all out and put them in this one drive. I was going to make a back up on another drive but this happened one day before I do the back up. Just my laziness..!

I hope the data is still available and this company can recover all the photos. It is not SSD so I hope Dan is spot on, I hope that’s the case anyway. Expecting a call from that company and will see what happens and will update guys. Appreciate for taking time to reply.
