2011-2013 Scion tC: Car Only Starts when I Bypass the Starter Fuse

My car is a 2005 Scion tC (they didn’t have that option when I made the forum.) It does not crank when I turn the key. If I hook up jumper cables same thing. I went through tests to see what it may be. I removed the starter relay/fuse from the fuse box. I was able to put to wires in the fuse “plug” to bypass the starter relay/fuse and the car starts. I went ahead and got a new fuse/relay and when I put it in, the same thing happens. Doesn’t crank at all. I have a multimeter to test different wire connections. I am trying to figure out what the problem is. I think it is the ignition switch or the park/neutral safety switch. I am not sure if that is right or even how to test that. I am adding a picture of someone bypassing the starter relay/fuse for a Scion xD

Update (10/19/2018)

This is my fuse box, it is slightly different than the diagram you shared.

This image is a picture of how I can get the car to turn over and start. Like I said the fuse isn’t the issue (tested with a new one). That is however where the starter fuse is located.

This is an automatic transmission. With that being said, which contacts should I jump to test the neutral switch?

Update (10/23/2018)

I tried these three combos for grounding the wires. I had no luck

This is what the connector and the wires look like

Something to note, I was able to get the car to try and start (the battery has been sitting and needs charged) by a combination of grounding the relay fuse as well as the first picture of me grounding the NSS connection. Pictures showing that

I only say that because that makes me assume the way I grounded the NSS worked that time because when I ground the Starter Relay it did start to work (like it does w/ the NSS normally.)

With all that being said what else could be the issue? It seems to me that something is not relaying the message to the starter relay properly so it does not try to run (like I said I had tried a brand new starter relay and that didn’t change anything). What are your thoughts? @travisjfox @oldturkey03

2008-Present Scion xB: My power steering went out

I was in a hit and run accident the other day and my car was hit on the driver side door/fender. I drove my car back to my friends house to drop him off as soon as he got out of the passenger seat the airbag light for his side came on on my dashboard and my heat went out instantly. As I was driving my car the next morning my power steering went out and my blinkers no longer work. I connected the computer device to my car to see what code came up and I got the P0705. My dad wiped the codes from my dashboard twice. I set my key in the ignition to ACC for 10 minutes. Power steering came back but shut off immediately right after and then check engine light, traction control and my airbag light came back on. Do I have to replace just the TCM or the ECM?? Or both?

2004–2010 Scion tC: Why is my RPM too high at lower speeds and car not shifting into third

Got a used engine under 55k mikes installed at auto shop due to a failed piston compression in my previous one. Get the car back a week later told it’s fine to drive. Come to find out that the RPM’s are way too high going a slower speeds. Took it in again and had them check the transmission and they installed a new filter and topped off fluid. Still having same issue but they told me that the car needs to relearn when to shift since but i drove it over 20 miles at various speeds and is doing the same thing. I told them to check the ECU but insisted that it just needed to relearn. What is the issue?

2008-Present Scion xB: Why does the rpms get high when changing gears?

I have an automatic 2012 with 108,000 miles. On cold start, car sometimes will have a high idle, but not too bad. The main problem is that the rpms get high when I shift gears. I've taken the car to 3 mechanics and they can't find the solution. There's no air leaks. Throttle body, throttle position sensor and mass air flow sensor replaced. I've had mechanic do a tune up, oil change and I got new battery. Transmission place told me the transmission is good, that it shifts hard because of the high rpms. I don't know what else to do. Thanks.

2014-2016 Scion tC: Tranny issues at 21K?

Hi guys, I have a 2015 automatic Scion tC with 21K miles. A week ago I did a transmission drain and fill at Toyota, since the car has probably sat for a while, ocd wanted fresh fluid to keep the tranny happy. Today I was leaving work and had to punch it to get into the lanes, as I hit around 40 mph the Rpms stayed at 3500 for a few seconds, almost as if I had it in sport mode and didn’t hit the paddles to make it shift. Toyota said everything looked good with the drain and fill but I’ve never had it hold rpms like that, idk if it thought I was going to keep punching it but eventually it shifted out of that state. Other than that shifting is smooth and I haven’t had any issues like that before. Could this be a tranny issue? I’ve tried reading it for codes and none show.
