Samsung Stove: NE58H9970WS Broil and R/H Burners INOP

I have what I think are two separate problems with my range. The broil mode was discovered to be not working so we just lived with that problem for a few months. Recently, we discovered that the two right burners had failed. When either one is selected and a pan is on the selected burner, the blue ring illuminates around the pan briefly, and then goes out. there is a "_" with a "U" above it in the indicator for the selected burner when this occurs. I have done the following troubleshooting:

For the Broil INOP Issue:

I verified there is 120 volts at each terminal on the broil heating element when the broil mode was selected. I also disconnected the electrical terminals from the heating element and then measured the resistance value. It was 13.2 Ohms which is within the specified limits. Is it possible that the element is bad even though it measured correctly?

I did a visual inspection of all of the visible wiring in the back of the unit and looked closely components on the main control board I didn't see any burned or corroded parts. I even removed it to visually inspect the solder joints and traces on the back of the board and everything looked ok. I took it to a local appliance repair shop here in my home town. They inspected it and felt a couple of solder joints on the BROIL Relay were questionable so the they re-soldered them. When I reinstalled the board, the same problem occurred. I can hear the BROIL relay cycling when Broil is selected. The broil element does not get hot (door is closed while waiting for it to heat - it doesn't get hot).

For the R/H Burner INOP issue:

I removed the top and the burners to access the circuit boards on the top. I inspected all of the wiring and inspected the circuit board for the right burners (looked at all of the components for burns or corrosion. Everything looked ok. I removed the circuit board and looked at the solder joints and traces on the back of the board and it looks OK.

I'm at a loss as to what to do next. I don't want to throw money at it unnecessarily but at the same time, when this thing works properly it's great so I'd like to get it working. I'm also trying to avoid laying out the money for a new range. I've contemplated replacing the main circuit board but its not inexpensive and I'm finding it difficult to locate anyone that has one available.

Please, if anyone has experience with these issues, let me know what you did about it.

Thanks in advance.

Model: NE59J7630SS, SN: DCJA03562 - purchased in January 2018. After ~4.5 years in service segments on the display are flickering but range works OK. Assuming control PC Board failed. Attached are the pictures of the PS BD and QR-code of it. Please confirm.

Hi Andrew S,

Attached is the picture of the Control PC BD (front panel).

Visual inspection did not indicate any physical or heat damage to the BD. Possible bad connection or component failure could be the reason. I would say it's not a bad idea of replacing the PC BD with another one (new or refurbished). Please advise.

Thank you for your help!

Samsung Stove: Range Membrane Switch or Control Board?

We have a NX583G0VBW/AA free-standing gas range. About two months ago, it began repeatedly beeping and displaying the error code of SE, leaving the burners working, but not the oven. The touchpad, which we believe is called a range membrane switch, would not work. We have repeatedly tried unplugging the stove and even resetting the electrical breakers on our outdoor box. Sometimes when we unplug and then plug in the cord again, the touchpad will flash all the oven functions and when it does so, the touchpad and oven temporarily work again. One time, the touchpad and oven worked again for about five days without any problems, but then it began beeping and reset to the all-too familiar SE error code.

Is there a way without fancy tools to determine whether this is a range membrane switch or a control board issue? We are seniors, so we don't have a large budget.

Thank you very much.
