Samsung Refrigerator RF220N TA: Freezer is working but having frost, Fridge is not cooling enough.

My Samsung French door RF220NTASR is not cooling enough. Freezer is set to medium and is quite cold, I do not know what temperature it is at but things are staying frozen. I am noticing a bit of frost and ice at the bottom and on containers. Fridge compartment is not cooling enough. Things are cold but not as cold and is causing food to go bad, my milk was all curdled in 4 days. Usually it used to last for 7-8 days without issue.

The fridge is also making a noise, a part of it I think is coming from behind and is a loud noise of something spinning, the noise can be heard in the next room when quiet.

Not sure if the cooling is related to the noise the fridge is making but think they are connected. Please help to isolate the problem so that I can replace the part which is broken.

Samsung Refrigerator RF220N TA: Why are my fridge and freezer not cold enough?

We noticed about two weeks ago that our 3 yr old Samsung Fridge, model rf220nctasr, is not cold enough (both fridge and freezer). Since then, we replaced the evaporator fan and cleaned the condensor coils. No change.

Other observations:

- The condensor fan seems to function adequately. It does sometimes run even if the compressor doesn't (we noticed that once).

- The compressor is really hot to the touch.

- The evaporator fan runs and pushed cold air when the light in the freezer isn't on. Can't confirm if it stops working however.

- The evaporator coils are not evenly frosted.

- We do not hear any clicking noise.

- Self diagnostic returns no error.

Repair person seems to think we should replace the freezer evaporator and filter dryer, but from my research, if the evaporator was defective, there would be an ice build up ?

Thank you!!!
