Samsung Intensity II: text messages are not initializing

I dropped my phone and the battery fell out. I was able to put the battery back in and turn my phone on, however the text messages will not initialize.

The screen will not light up or show anything but the keyboard will work to call people, when I call someone it has to be on speaker in order to hear them.

I dropped my phone and the piece to connect the bottom part of the phone QWERTY keypad to the top part dialing pad to light up the screeen busted. Is this fixable????

When I create a new message, sometimes I can choose a name and it will appear (ex: my sister and dad) but other times it is just their number (ex: my mom and boyfriend) How can I get their names to show up on the messaging screen instead of their phone numbers?

I had this phone a while ago, and liked it until it didn't send a text message. I tried to reset it, and ended up with a new one, but the same phone. That messe up, too. I still have one of them at my house, but how do I fix it?
